Agree. Even this year, lots of top 35 teams, but still a weak tourney showing for the legacy BIG after the best 4 years in a long time (and not just Iowa - Michigan, Indiana and OSU all had impressive tourney success during the period 2021-2024).

Hope the Gophers can do better, and not mimic the Illini. Illinois started 1-3 in the BIG. They were never contending (though they later won 8 in a row, including 6 games against the bottom 5). Illinois also lost its last 4 games against BIG teams, including 0-1 in the BTT.
