I dont know why the hell people keep comparing the Vikings and Gophers. Comparing the Vikings being a game away from the SB to the Gophers being a game away from a Conference championship is not even remotely close to a similar profile.

Doesn't matter what I think because whether its directly contributing to a schools collective to pay players or by indirectly watching games on TV which drives demand for those media contracts fans end up paying either way.

Thats called being realistic! They fill up stadiums becasue despite the lack of a SB win they know theres a chance. The Vikings have been closer to a SB win in the last 60+ years than the Gophers have been to a conference title game in the last 50 years.

It just makes a team like OSU harder to beat but I dont think it mattered much last night. Because seriously, Ohio State had been miles ahead of Minnesota and the Big 10 for decades. Sure there's some seasons beating them was more attainable than others but we need to be honest with ourselves...

When it gets to the point where you have to set your expectation level of winning 8 or 9 games is a great season it gets harder to justify watching.

Im sorry but the fact that Minnesota who is in the same conference as OSU cant even score one TD is embarrassing and a telling sign of how far apart they are from OSU. The Gophers will never make up that difference and their stat line just confirms that.

Scheduling has nothing to do with it. The Gophers might have had 2 teams that would have played better but compete for 4 quarters no way, not unless you caught OSU on a down year which is unlikely. Its the delusional thinking of "you have to try and get them when you can" that keeps people...
