2025 Minnesota High School Football Thread

He didn't play in the first four games due to injury. I don't know if he's come back in the last week or two.

If your point is that they are on the same footing as the rest of the world if you just ignore all of the parties' conduct and experiences with each other over the years of their relationship, I guess I'd ask why in the world you would ignore that? Neither side seems to have been all that happy...

I have no idea if there are any at this point since the current deal still has 5+ years to run. (And if I did know, I wouldn't post it on a message board.) I just know that, at this point, no one I have spoken to thinks Huntington has any interest in extending the relationship. Maybe they are...

I don't think that you can compare an NFL stadium deal to the University of Minnesota, but I would like to think that they could do better much better than what they are getting from Huntington and your IU example is a good one. I am not sure, however, that everyone at the U is convinced of that.

Of course not, that wasn't really the issue. I can't say too much, but the parties agreed to extend the option date by a year to give Huntington more time to deal with issues related to being new in the market and the ongoing pandemic. The TCF people who had been working with the U were gone...

I don't know either. Certainly there has been a benefit to Huntington as they tried to acclimate consumers in a new market to an unfamiliar name, but presumably that benefit diminishes over time as they become more established. The U was not happy with how Huntington declined the option and...

    Kicker

I'd hope saving a year for Jackson isn't a factor, only mentioned it because it's a possibility as to why he's only been in one game so far. Maybe Denaburg is the best option, but he's a career 61% kicker (19 for 31). You are right that he's 6 of 9 this year, but only one of the makes was...

    Kicker

I am not at practice, but I know what I see at the games and the current guy doesn't inspire confidence at all. If the guy from Alex isn't getting a shot because they are trying to preserve a redshirt, I think that's short sighted. If he's no better than Denaburg, we're in trouble going forward.

In 2021, Huntington Bank declined the option to continue the naming rights agreement through 2040. The current agreement expires in 2031. I haven't seen the agreement, so I don't know what specifically it provides, but presumably any assignment of the rights under the contract requires both...

What is Drake Lindsey's ceiling? 1st RD pick?

Man do some people like to extrapolate from what some people want or value to other people they have never met.

What is the best lot for tailgating?

I don't know you and my comments are not directed to your conduct specifically or to in any way justify fan vs. fan confrontation. Based on my years of observations in that lot, I think the reason that the lot enforcement squad has been more aggressive in the last few years is that there have...

What is the best lot for tailgating?

The lot opening times for all of the on campus lots are set by University policy. If you are looking to start earlier, you'll have to go off campus.

Memory lane - attending a game at the shoe

Great story! My first and only trip to the Big House was the Gophers 30-14 win over Michigan in 2014. I have no plans to go back.

    Recent history vs Ohio State

I guess "pretty tough" is a matter of opinion, but the scores of the last ten games, dating back to 2006 and all OSU wins, are: 37-3 45-31 30-14 28-14 31-24 52-10 38-7 34-21 30-7 44-0 Only one of those was a one score game.

Fleck on Taylor injury: "It doesn't seem too bad, which is really good. So, we got really good, positive diagnosis on that.”

Yes, the Vegas line setters knew all about Turner. All the discussion I heard between Cal and Rutgers was that Turner had a long term injury. And I am talking about from people like Ryan Burns and Justin Gaard, not some insider information.

    Future Scheduling for P4

The same years that we are on Alabama's schedule they play Arizona. In '32 they are at Minnesota and host Arizona and the next year it flips. The thought is that they won't want two P4 non-conference games in addition to those nine SEC games, but who knows?

    Future Scheduling for P4

That's really the key point. The Big Ten made the difference between eight and nine conference games an issue in the playoff format discussions. The SEC went to nine conference games and mandated a tenth P4 game once they were satisfied that it would be a factor in selecting playoff teams...
