Those are it. Love the rusty maroon. Glad to have finally ditched the eggplant maroon.

Yes. Bring back proper kickoffs and kick returns. Enough with the gimmicks. Its football. Its violent. Let them play.

For those of you eagerly checking in, the UMAC historically does not release its preseason poll until the end of August. By historically, I mean 2024.

    Brosmer in Vikings Game

Sure. Last year Rypien was the odd man out. Nick Mullens was on the 53 man and Daniel Jones was in the practice squad, but promoted to the active roster for the playoffs. Jaren Hall was cut to make room for Rypien. The Vikings had draft capital in Hall like they do in Howell so anything is...

    Brosmer in Vikings Game

Having only seen preseason garbage time out of Rypien and Brosmer and taking into account unverifiable scuttlebutt from camp, at this point in camp, the roster could be JJ, Howell, Max. But, keep in mind that KOC likes a veteran project. If there is a Darnold/Daniel Jones type that comes...

All about Max Brosmer Making the Cut

Brosmer comes in as the 4th QB of the day. Howell looked better than reported. Rypien didn't look good. Brosmer looks good on the 4th drive. Frankly, JJ's throws weren't awesome to start the day.

    Gophers vs Northwestern at Wrigley

I suppose it depends on where you want to sit. FB games in BB stadiums have quite a few seats with terrible sightlines. Are you driving or flying? I drove once and stayed in Evanston and took the train to Wrigley and downtown Chicago.

What happened to the concept of a Non-Qualifier?

Is it possible that other states have implemented watered down high school academic standards much like Minnesota? Are the academically risky kids not appearing to be quite so risky coming out of school? That certainly doesn't explain how they stay eligible once at the U or other institutions...

St John's FB fits this bill. A friend's kid went to St John's a year or two removed from undergrad and was "on the football team." He was at about #28 on the depth chart for tight ends.

I guess I understood the assertion to mean that schools are using the opportunity to be on an athletic team (and thus get a whole bunch of tuition paying student athletes) as recruiting tool, not the mere existence of athletic teams as a significant recruiting tool to non-athletes. I agree that...

It may have been at one time but it is a four year institution now. There was a rash of private JUCOs that became four year schools in the last couple of decades. Bethany in Mankato, for one.

The time has come... move the band

I never had an issue hearing the band. My old tickets were visitor side, 2nd deck 25ish yard line. I attend a few games in Brookings at SDSU in the new stadium there and the band is also in recessed, end zone seating and sounds fantastic no matter where you sit. I don't think the recessed...

One anecdote only, but one I see in my community repeated over and over - my former neighbor girl, recently graduated, is playing basketball for something called "Central College" in Iowa. She's a 5'7" forward who, while she started for her high school team, was perhaps the 4th or 5th best...

I can't imagine that would be a desirable result. It's hard to imagine the allure of playing FB for a MSUM without a scholarship would be a great as playing for a UST or Drake. Any perceived tangibles and/or intangibles just don't seem to be there. Most Pioneer teams are private. Morehead...

I think that's been the discussion in other threads. How many nonschollie guys on a roster x tuition, fees, etc.? But surely there are immense costs of running a FB team even if the players are paying their own way through school?

The school and community profile says so. But for all the success the school has had on the court and on the field since joining the NSIC, the community takes very little notice and offers only minimal support. But then again, maybe its a matter of "if you build it, they will come." The same...
