    Greg Harbaugh: Coaching MVP

Lindsey would make a lot of playcallers seem good. But seriously ... if you can give him time, players will come open, it's just human nature you can't cover forever, and Lindsey can hit them.

But Cal Lost To San Diego State By 34 . . .

This is well said. It's not at all a thing of being limited to non-conference ... it's simply that PJ Fleck football lays eggs, because it is sooo risk averse and conservative. There is very little margin, and inevitably when you're dealing with players this age the execution is just not near...

By the halftime mark of the game, I thought a bowl game might be out of the question..

Really hoping we can avoid injuries in Columbus, first and foremost. Seemed like players were dropping like flies today.

Depends what happens next week. If it hits the fan in Columbus and Purdue upsets Illini at home in that big rivalry game (after a bye week), then they may not. However, I'm thinking Illini take care of business in West Laf and hoping for a Gopher-OSU score more similar to the Wash-OSU score...

But Cal Lost To San Diego State By 34 . . .

I foresee the Big Ten joining the other three P4 conferences in mandating a 10th game against another P4 every season, so we'll have more chances to expand this record beyond the already scheduled Mississippi State home/home and the return trip by Cal (with Saga ... the QB, potentially as a true...

You can say a thing like this on literally every football play every called. You can line up in power-I and run an Iso handoff in the A gap, and claim the exact same thing you do here. You're not 100% wrong, by any means. But there's a line where play calling absolutely matters.

***OFFICIAL RUTGERS AT MINNESOTA ATHAN’S DAD RETURN IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

One "sack" at least was from their Center errantly snapping the ball. AK constantly had excessive time to pick apart the coverage.

And to be fair I did say "calling", which is not the same thing ... but at the end of the day, the buck stops with Danny Collins. If the guys aren't tackling well, the buck stops with him. He needs to emphasize it more in practice. And so on

Coaching to me means teaching the boys how to play the game. The X's and O's, the technique. Being a play caller and/or decision maker is really an entirely different thing. You can be good at one but not have skill in the other. Probable why in the NFL the coordinators focus on game plans and...

I'm going to assume Iowa tackles better than we do and actually likes to do a thing of putting pressure on the QB.

I would just say .. you probably didn't need to make a new thread. Make the posts in the game thread. Wait until after the game is actually over before making new threads?

Drake is massive hitting the TE's Great passing Now we just gotta get Danny Collins to not call the defensive like he's never called a defense
