    I'm generally against retiring numbers. I think that seeing players on the field with a number of a former great player makes me more likely to recall the great player, than to never see the number again.

    When I was a grad student at the U of South Carolina they used to occasionally play in 5-points (SC's version of Dinkytown). I too wish that I had seen them in my Salad Days.

    I know that they have done some work on the stadium. Does the visiting team still have to climb that spooky stairway to get to the field on the SW side of the stadium? It was external and about a 4 story climb, gave me the creeps to look down there. Go Gophers!
