I don't think so. Spring matches are usually a chance for coaches to experiment with different lineups. Often, they will only play 4 sets. It sounds like both teams went with their full strength lineups for set 1 before switching things up.

Since we're sharing personal opinions, I'll throw mine in too. I am all for the athletes having rights, whether to make money via NIL or transfer. For too long, the whole NCAA system was set up to use them and not give them any rights beyond their scholarships. That said, I am selfishly sad...

I'm with you 100%, although I admit my dislike of WI/Sheffield is a factor. That said, if MN was scooping up all of the top portal transfers, I would still dislike the practice.

I would say the extra covid year and scholarships running out (see OSU) is one factor. But that's a very good question.
