I come from wrestling as my main sport. Kids literally wrestle the entire year now. Some of these kids are wrestling like 100+ matches a year. Been a real issue with injuries with how physical the sport is.

Yeah, you have 5 starters and maybe 2-3 kids that rotate in a fair amount. So unless you're one of the top 8 kids on the team you're riding pine or playing JV. And Basketball participation is still pretty high I think so even making JV can be hard. I'm not sure what the number of kids is...

Yup, that is the issue in MN. I think usually our highest level recruits tend to be lineman. 8 of the top 15 for 2026, 7 for 2025, 9 in 2024.

Yeah, that would be best. Just looking at AAAA not sure how you make it work pairing sections. Section 1, 7, & 8 are all pretty isolated within the class. 3 & 6 make sense and 4 & 5 makes sense.

This is a big measuring stick for the Gophers for this point in the season. Cal looks to have a good team this year, so a win could really be a jumping off point for the Gophers heading into the conference schedule.
