    Short Ornery Norwegian...

Builtbadgers is another guy who was a prolific poster, but hasn't been here for more than a year and a half now. He said he was in his 70s, so maybe time got him, like it did a Dick Bennett offense.

Fair enough, I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and hope that somehow she’s the second coming of Donna Shalala, or even half a Shalala.

The academics running the University care, that’s who. For as long as I’ve been a student and alum, every president, from Ken Keller to Rebecca Cunningham, and the Board of Regents have viewed athletics as a necessary evil that was fine when it’s quiet, but a complete pain in the ass to them...

Bennett's out of the game. The man was clear why he stepped away from one of the best gigs in college basketball, and that's because the industry has changed so much that he no longer wants to be part of it. He's not coming back just 5 months later to coach Minnesota. "The game and college...

Clem (who lived for 9 years outside the South when he was in the NBA) and Tubby had interest in Minnesota. Wade obviously didn’t, otherwise he’d be the Gophers head coach.

Again, a coaching hire is a two-way proposition, meaning the coach has to want the school as much as the school wants the coach. Why would a guy like Wade, who has spent his ENTIRE life in the South, suddenly make Minnesota his home, a place that’s completely foreign to him culturally...

Colorado State AD is ‘looking forward’ to keeping men’s basketball coach Niko Medved

When asked if he had been contacted for permission to talk with Medved, Weber responded, “I had a lovely chocolate soufflé for lunch.”

    Richard Pitino on KFAN

Is it too sentimental to say I miss Pitino? The person, not necessarily the coach, although he really seems to have found himself in Albuquerque.

I think the IU job is a tough one. The expectations are sky high, even though they haven't really been INDIANA FREAKING BASKETBALL for about 20 years, and their fans are delusional, clutching to the old days like grim death. In so many ways it does feel like the basketball version of Nebraska...
