Damnit. I was busy most of the afternoon and evening and caught 5 minutes of Bareemo without Guerin on yet. One texter speculated it might be a hernia. Then they started talking about scrotums and testicles. Then I arrived at my destination. Any further clues on what the surgery was? Let me...
Well, I wanted to look at attendance during the heyday of the Clem seasons, but apparently those seasons never happened. This is a trite refrain, but I want my God-damned money back. You can't even keep the attendance figures on the web site? Are you kidding me? WTAF...
Spurgeon looked solid. Kaprizov flashed and definitely could have scored a couple times, but understandably wasn't on the same page with guys. Hynes juggled the lines after the first period. There wasn't much jump early. Last 2/3 we controlled the puck, but couldn't score. Utah's PK is 90%...
One was brutal. Fluttering shot that was going about 10 mph. All he had to do was wall up. Instead he kicked his pad out lazily (or severely misjudging the speed) and a "Utah" (what the hell am I supposed to call him?) caught a piece of it and it fluttered over his pad. Terrible. 4-0 with...
Late to the party here, but can we officially say Gus is slumping? Not giving us a chance to win tonight. Meanwhile, tons of O-zone time, but can't put the biscuit in the basket.
Also, Gaudreau never, ever scores.......
It will be very interesting to see how they do tomorrow. I really hope they get a win - that would be quite a feat! Since they don't play until Thursday........ ;)
The score was 3-3 at the time against a conference rival. The only non-moronic time to do something like that would have been with less than a minute to play when we were down by 2.
That is not "physical". That is dirty. McDavid's play was not dirty in my opinion. He was only trying to hinder Johannsson from getting to the puck carrier. A very, very common tactic in hockey. He just clipped him in a bad spot. Should have been a penalty, but I can see how they missed...
Late in the 2nd period, McDavid stuck his elbow out abruptly right after he had given up the puck and smacked Johansson in the head. Marcus didn’t return to the game. No penalty was called. TV guys were saying it could have been a double minor. I think it was a dangerous move only because...
Yeah. I thought the same thing. He’s not a dirty player and the game was still in the balance. I also didn’t see it as egregious as the TV guys did (which is surprising, since they worship him on TNT). I mean stuff like that happens along the boards all the time. Freak occurrence.
Great post. I agree 100% with your assessment of the defense. I would also say that we relied too much on forcing turnovers. While obviously a great trait for a defense, it can serve to gloss over chunk yardage and can be an unreliable tool. I would prefer a more stingy defense, if I had to...
