Wisconsin made a bold move, do we have the nerve to do the same?

SOUND OFF! Post-Game Thread: Gophers Lose Heartbreaker to Hawkeyes, Again, Fleck Remains Winless vs Iowa.

I would think they are all trolls but some of them are known accounts. You can say Iowa is better coached because of how MSM blew his assignments twice resulting in huge plays for Iowa. Or because our inexperienced qb missed on an easy touchdown before half or went 1/8 in the second half with...

According to Fleck, Athan did not read the defense properly and threw it to the wrong guy (non open guy).

I don’t think putting the game in Athan’s hands would have been the way to go. The Gophers ran all over Iowa but just like last year, Iowa players made winning plays and our Gophers made mistakes.

Exactly there were several drives where Mo seemed to be averaging 7 yards per carry. The Gophers were kicking their butts but made three big mistakes. I don’t fault the coach for that but the last 30 seconds of the game were pretty bad.

Yeah saw that too and Athan could have taken them over the finish line today.

Was at the game and I couldn’t see who blew their assignment on the first play of the game (interior TE screen but I’m guessing it was MSM. Lindenberg absolutely read and blew it up when Iowa tried to run it a second time. That T Smith tip opportunity wasn’t easy with the deflection happening...

I thought the game would be won by Iowa because of their punter. It didn’t quite work that way but we should expect above average special teams starting next year.

Post Game Comments from Fleck on KFAN

Not sure if we win the game with Morgan. Athan with a bad read there negating an incredible effort from the OLine and Mo. Missed FG and MO’s fumble obviously huge too. Two years in a row that the Gophers won the LOS battle on offense and nice job stopping the run. Our defense gave up some big...

How would Gopher Football look in 2022 if the team had never moved out of Memorial Stadium?

I was a student in 1992 and I don’t remember the stadium being demolished. Weird as I hated the college football experience as a student at the dome. The amount of money we spend on stadiums now is totally different from the 80’s and 90’s.

    Weather vs Iowa

I think the game vs MSU in 2012 has been the coldest game I have attended. LeVeon Bell could not be stopped and the Gophers offense was non existent Michigan State out-gained Minnesota by a huge margin on the ground, picking up 278 rushing yards, while holding Minnesota to a paltry 4 yards...

    The Matchup With Iowa

Last year the Gophers moved the ball well and were held/settled to FG on 2 or 3 possessions. The Gophers still should have won the game, but the defense gave up some big plays that were the story of why Iowa one. One of them was an awful job of wrapping up a WR behind the line and then letting...

right, especially with Petras in the game as he doesn't run well. If Padilla comes in then that could get exploited as it did early vs Nebraska.

    The Matchup With Iowa

If both teams punt 6 times, I could see Iowa having a net 120 yard advantage from their amazing punter combined with our below average punter and punt return team.
