    Jaylen Crocker-Johnson to MN!

9 ppg and 4.4 rpg on a top 50 team is more than decent IMO. If he shows improvement like he did from his FR to SO year he'll be a huge asset.

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

Because the people insisting this thread die are the same one bumping it to say exactly that.

    Niko’s roster construction

130 of the top 150 (according to 247) players still remain in the portal.

    Niko’s roster construction

I'll start being concerned if we start signing D2 players, bring in a backup Center from Stephen F. Austin, or sign an offensive lineman out of football eligiblity.

Done Deal! - MINNESOTA HIRES NIKO MEDVED!!

What a massive upgrade. I'm curious what his salary will be. From what I've read he was making $1.7m this past season. Guessing we doubled that if not more.

Final Field of 68 Projection: Biggest Questions? Does SEC get 14 & does Mountain West get at least 4?

But they were 6-0 in the OOC against P5 teams, and beat Michigan, Louisville and Arizona all teams that made the conference tournament championship game in the other power conferences. Plus their overall record is 20-13. They have a pretty strong resume relative to teams around the cut line. My...

Hallman: Black coaches' shelf life is much shorter & benefit of the doubt much less practiced as opposed to their White counterpart

Craig Smith fired after 4 seasons. Kevin Kruger fired after 4 seasons. WHY DON'T WHITE COACHES GET THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT!!??

Hallman: Black coaches' shelf life is much shorter & benefit of the doubt much less practiced as opposed to their White counterpart

What a joke. CBJ skipped the line to become coach here. Whether it was because he was African American, from Minnesota or went to school here, he certainly didn't earn this opportunity. He was given 4 years, the worst 4 year stretch in the programs history. I don't mean to shit on CBJ, because I...

At 1:19am, 3.13.25. - The Ben Johnson Era has ended and Ben is fired

Yeah, but if CBJ had us in the top 50 of the NET and in position to be a 10 or 11 seed he would have been retained. OU just has higher standards, which is fine, they have a much better history of sustained success than we do. Especially this century. But that still doesn't have anything to do...

At 1:19am, 3.13.25. - The Ben Johnson Era has ended and Ben is fired

He might, but what does him potentially losing his job have to do with anything? They finished 14th in the conference. We finished 12th. They're going to make the tournament, we won't even make the NIT.

At 1:19am, 3.13.25. - The Ben Johnson Era has ended and Ben is fired

I'm just saying, B1G record doesn't really mean much, when the OOC schedule and performance have routinely been as poor as they have. There's a reason a team like OU can go 7-13 in the SEC and pretty safely make the tournament this year.

At 1:19am, 3.13.25. - The Ben Johnson Era has ended and Ben is fired

Our record says we tied for the 2nd worst record in the B1G with Rutgers. The only difference is they played a harder schedule than we did.

At 1:19am, 3.13.25. - The Ben Johnson Era has ended and Ben is fired

We finished 17th though according to the NET. There's more to a season than just the B1G games.

    COYLE FIRES BEN JOHNSON!!!!!!

The timing of the firing was fine. Its kinda sad this is the most nationally relevant the program has been in the last 4 years and it came at 1:19 in the morning.

Describe the Gophers 24-25 season in 1 sentence

Johnson had Garcia, Battle and Cooper and surrounded them with exactly one B1G level player. It should have ended after that season.

Describe the Gophers 24-25 season in 1 sentence

Same as the last three seasons under this staff... irrelevant at that end of it.

Johnson: “I have some personal pride that I’ll be the only minority coach in the league. I take that with a badge of honor."

To answer your question. Hed probably be an assistant coach at a mid major right now, making $75k/yr. if that. He will have banked around $12 million or so when it's all said and done, if it stops there.

Iowa men’s basketball turnout falls further in 2024-25, tickets scanned data shows: Fell 33%

Not surprised. Fan apathy has set in with the Iowa fan base, because they want their coach to be fired/retire. Sound familiar?
