Did you actually watch any games? Defensive, this team was improved. Offensively, players began to show solid improvement. The team is taking on the things their coach is asking of them. But, you are only looking at where they landed in the standings. Did you watch any games?

Most schools with limited resources will dump football to concentrate on basketball. You only need 8 great players to win a national title. That's a whole lot cheaper than paying for 90. Plus, it's easier to figure out Title IX concerns. Football will very likely see significant reductions.
