All I can say is, thank God Greenway didn't choose Iowa.

One thing I liked is that she could absorb a lot of contact going to the basket and still finish the play, kind of like Banham and Whalen. We've had too many guards the past few years who would drive to the basket, get hit, and then throw up a "hope it goes in" shot.

I agree. I had never seen her play before yesterday, and based on her career scoring totals I envisaged a gunner. I was pleasantly surprised by her passing and her court sense. She always seems to know where her teammates are.

Favorite Friday: Who is your favorite Gophers men’s basketball player?

Bobby Jackson, Ray Williams, Jim Brewer, Richard Coffey, Lou Hudson.

I am not arguing with you. I was ready for a change by the end of her tenure too. I'm just saying she (along with Whalen and McCarville) took us somewhere where the program had never been before or since. I also enjoyed her interactions with the fans at the luncheons we had during each...

I agree with you on Coach Borton. Until someone else takes us to the Final Four, she has to rank first or second. I didn't always agree with her coaching, but she was a class act. It may be hard to believe, but somehow or other I obtained her email address. I sent her numerous emails over...

B1G tourney game 1: Gophers versus Washington (3-5-25)

I don't remember anyone saying we were going to win a national championship with those four. Most people were just happy that four good local kids were staying home to play for the U. Plus, we hoped it was a sign that future local stars would follow in their footsteps

Basically, they know when to pass and shoot, and we don't.

No comments yet. Having the games on Peacock doesn't help the viewership.

    All-Big Ten Teams

I'm not. With 18 teams now in the Big Ten, there's more competition than ever. Tori had a fine year, but she going to have to develop her mid-range game to take the next step.

Cool. And you still follow the Gophers.

I forgot Stewart. She was a fine addition.

B1G Game 18: Gophers visit Michigan State (3-1-25)

I don't think anyone is saying Dawn is a terrible coach and that the Gophers didn't play better this year. GG expanded her game, Battle played more under control, Tori was a revelation, Heyer was steady, and Hart had her moments. Plus, the team did improve it's Big ten record. But offensively...

Just a suggestion, but have you considered changing your moniker to "Broken Record"?

When the same thing happens time and time again, maybe there's more than luck involved.

Tori, GG, and Battle showed up. Unfortunately, that's not enough.

B1G Game 18: Gophers visit Michigan State (3-1-25)

If points were given for dribbling, the Gophers would win every game going away.

We really could use some jumpers. Even when we have position, we lose the rebound.
