Weird Lincoln Riley Introduction is ... weird ... really weird ...

USC football was coming off probably its most dominant decade in 1979 when that song was recorded. I was a middle schooler and thought it was really cool. USC never matched its 1970s performance after that. Therefore, there's only one conclusion. Mick Fleetwood destroyed the USC Trojan dominance.

Weird Lincoln Riley Introduction is ... weird ... really weird ...

I always liked the original Fleetwood Tusk video with the marching band and heavy drums; being a young percussionist before going full-on jock. I also always wondered why they filmed the video in a damn baseball stadium and not the Coliseum or Rose Bowl!

    Ciarrocca - Pay Cut

Agreed. You beat me to the punch. We don't know what the incentives could be. Plus, in a situation where a coordinator left in the past, an "earn out" with incentives makes a lot of sense.

They were going for this: But they got this instead:

Weird Lincoln Riley Introduction is ... weird ... really weird ...

I can take a lightly practiced Tusk from a small pep band, but the bad Fly Girl impersonation by the "cheerleaders" was just plain hard to watch and weirdly out of place. In short, IT WAS AWESOME!

An Awesome Play, from 80 Years Ago

I think the lineman are no bigger than the backs in that video. Times have changed.

An Awesome Play, from 80 Years Ago

Every single bock is a cut block. Isn't GusTalon complaining in another thread that GSU just abandoned this system?

Jace Frederick: Gophers football team plays in Big Ten’s JV division

The way I see it, achieving a current divisional championship (9 conference games, 6 division games and 7 teams) is more similar to the old 10-team conference championship (7 to 8 conference games) than the current set up with 14 teams and a championship game.

Jace Frederick: Gophers football team plays in Big Ten’s JV division

I disagree. The West Division would have had at least 3 champions or co-champions if not for the conference championship game (Iowa 2015, Wis 2017, NW 2018 : 2020 could possibly have been NW but it was an unbalanced COVID schedule). With a dominant team in the conference like OSU, championship...

Jace Frederick: Gophers football team plays in Big Ten’s JV division

I'll do the PP writer a favor and provide some research (you know, something "reporters" do). Here's a chart of East vs. West by school by year. It's all about Ohio State.

Texas to Start Buying its OL

Side note: we have our fair share of professional non-profiters in the Twin Cities. Time to do some work for the Gophs!

Texas to Start Buying its OL

This deal is genius. The "non-profit" world is full of sleazy grifters dressed as caring gentle souls. The next step is to run the OL recipients through the children's hospital for a photo op. Who the hell is gonna question that?

    Bowl thread

It wouldn't be as severe as the first-round blowouts in the lower divisions, but there would be some P5/G5 blowouts no doubt.

The downside to that is then the idiotic "Coyles" narrative would get rehashed here for the millionth time...

    Bowl thread

When the playoffs get expanded to 12 teams, the Gophs will get to host a first round at USB (I can dream at least). As much as I hate the thought of Gopher football off campus, a December playoff game at USB with the afternoon sun beaming through the roof would be nice.

    Bowl Game Ticket Question

I wonder if there are tailgating and beer/cocktail availability differences.

    Bowl Game Ticket Question

Buy through the school. It's much more fun to be among other Gopher fans. It can suck to be stuck in the middle of opposing team fans, although I can't imagine fans getting too worked up for this game.

Gophers vs West Virginia in Guaranteed Rate Bowl

So, the video shows Chase Field getting converted to a football field. I'm not familiar with it. I assume the roof would be closed since it's a night game in late December. Daytime with it open would have been nice. It sounds like the field was converted from grass to turf recently (boo) which...
