Day 3 of Niko, still no CSU portal action

    Thanks, I hadn’t seen that.

Day 3 of Niko, still no CSU portal action

Is this cause for concern? Beats me. Maybe Niko isn’t the type to fleece his old home. Still, I know a lot of you were hoping for some CSU transfers. Maybe they are happy with Ali.

Guess Niko and his meeting went well.

    Niko’s roster construction

Back in 1984, I had a $115 pair of Brooks high tops, which was quite a lot of money at the time. The shoes blew out in the Region 3 Championship game and instead of blowing more major coin, I rocked Chucky Ts at the state tourney. They were easier to break in. For the thread, Rigsby went...

Bottom of this threads first post is for you bro. Not in any particular order.

    Niko’s roster construction

I wouldn’t mind seeing Parker Fox added to the staff.

Nadine asks Medved about hanging the 1997 banners and playing St. Thomas

There is not a good reason to avoid St Thomas. They would definitely have beefed up Ben’s pathetic NC schedule. Could play it at the Target Center!

    Niko’s roster construction

Were any players at the intro? Asuma? Grove? Rigsby? GARCIA???

    Niko’s roster construction

This is as close to a blank slate as you can possibly get! So it is pretty much going to be a roster he owns from the start. But that is the new landscape of NCAA Basketball. The cupboard: Isaac Asuma - if you’re only going to get one returnee you could do a lot worse. CONFIRMED RETURN...

What grade would you give Mark Coyle's hire of Niko Medved?

Yeah, I think that is about right. I gave him a “D” for Ben instead of an F simply because I figured someone told him to do it. As for now, An A would have been for something monumental, like getting Dutcher out of San Diego, Shaka, or like hiring Bobby Knight the day after Indiana fired him...

4 years out, the Niko Medved hire will be a success if?...

50% NCAAs At least 1 season in top half of B1G A 50-50 record vs Skunks At least this hire isn’t a reach. A Tyrannosaur could of made this choice!

What grade would you give Mark Coyle's hire of Niko Medved?

Local guy, U grad, proven rebuilder, and successful NCAA participant at Fort Collins. I gave Cole a C. Any one of us idiots could have pulled the trigger on this one. To get a higher score he would need to outperform the Gopherhole Borg. At least, a C+ for not trying to overthink it.

All Things Gophers Coaching Search Thread (rumors, tweets, tid-bits and more)

I’m pretty sure this is what Tony Bennett said when asked what he was going to do upon stepping down from Virginia. “Fly me to the moon, let me swing among the stars! Take me round the universe to Minneapolis and St Paul. In other words, Coyle, hire me!” At least, I think that is what he said.l

Marcus article: Gophers are hiring while Big Ten men’s basketball has zero Black head coaches again

Maybe Marcus could do a respective puff piece on John Thompson and his reverse racism stance built on his quote, “A white player will never start for me.” Wonder what John thinks of Mr Flagg.

    Will Wade to NC State

Another one bites the dust. Per ESPN, upon the end of his current teams run, he will take over where Jim Valvano used to coach!

What is easier? Getting to a bowl game, or making the NCAAs?

All this coach evaluation talk made me ask myself this question. It seems on the surface that making a bowl game is pretty easy since it takes only 6 wins to qualify. That with a schedule including 3 relative cupcake games (usually at home) against near non-competitive teams. Which means you...

Hallman: Black coaches' shelf life is much shorter & benefit of the doubt much less practiced as opposed to their White counterpart

John Thompson Lenny Wilkens Doc Rivers The guy who coached Temple Nolan Richardson Tony Dungy These are all coaches who coached for a very long time and they share a skin color. What they didn’t share is losing.

Hallman: Black coaches' shelf life is much shorter & benefit of the doubt much less practiced as opposed to their White counterpart

Black coaches have a shorter leash? Then explain Mike Tomlin. Oh wait, he wins.

    Thank you, Ben Johnson

Give me a break. I didn’t have enough NIL. FU I gave my blood and sweat. FU I had a clean program. FU I tried to do my best. FU This should have happened after his second incompetent season, and you want to “thank him”? He got paid. Now get the F out. Think of the four years of wasted fan...
