***OFFICIAL Buckears AT MINNESOTA BOUNCE BACK IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Those contested shots just inside the 3 point line are frustrating, it was encouraging to see him finish a tough one at the rim yesterday though!

***OFFICIAL Buckears AT MINNESOTA BOUNCE BACK IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I was disappointed in Gach's on ball defense yesterday. He was blown by numerous times, which either leads to a bucket or fouls a lot of the time. I know he's tall, but he doesn't seem to get low enough or move his feet very well. Is it a lack of effort?

Back to 17 wins to be “completely safe” heading to BTT

I think crowds are a big part of home court advantage, however, there is still the advantage of the feel of your home court, not traveling, the depth of the background behind the rims, all of it. I think that plays a part in home court advantage. It will be interesting to see just how much.

    Covid pauses Gopher BB

I was pretty surprised to find out that they've been out of practice since last week and we are just now hearing about it. I think this makes the easier than normal non-conference slate a bit of a blessing, they can use those games to work on the things they missed these two weeks.

    Gophers Practice!

I'll have to join that room too. Not only do they rarely end in an open look for someone, a lot of times they can't even get the ball in play without turning it over. Especially in high intensity situations.

Iowa's Luka Garza declares for NBA draft, keeps eligibility

Does everyone feel like Oturu's ceiling is that much higher than Garza's? Is that why everyone seems to feel Oturu will for sure stay in the draft and Garza will be back?

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA VS NORTHWESTERN BTT IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Your Christmas come early post did come off as though you were hoping for a loss, at least to me.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT INDIANA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

The change in defense doesn't have to be a big change either, try picking up man at 3 quarters once in a while. Even if it doesn't create a turnover, it often times throws the other team's offense out of sorts as far as shot clock. They aren't able to set up and run their plays so easily.

    Looking back...

Thanks. I agree we should be able to keep pace with an Iowa or almost all the B1G teams in that respect except for maybe Mich St or maybe Ohio St. I know that would take a lot of research or someone that follows another program closely. Built, where does Wisconsin stand on this? How many...

    Looking back...

Great Post. I would be interested where Pitino's straight up recruiting misses stack up against other coaches in the B1G? Pitino has around 8-10 depending on where you stand on the character issues. Is his miss number way higher than other coaches? Does he not force out recruits as hard as...

    How Many Coaches

Monson Tubby Pitino I'm still undecided about Pitino's 8th year. I understand he hasn't produced good, even mediocre results in the B1G. I do see a better recruiting, but maybe that's just me always looking for the positive?

***OFFICIAL MARYLAND AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I couldn't believe they didn't make him pick the ball up, twice! Anyone remember Smith fall and act like he broke his leg, and instead of go on a break with the team Oturu stayed with him to see if he was alright! Go score, then check on him!

Field of 68: Indiana Joins the Field, Rutgers Hanging On (For Now)

Had the Gophers stayed with their normal non-conference schedule of easier opponents this year, would we be better off at possibly 16-10 or 17-9 but having not played as tough of a schedule? The offense this year is running more efficiently than last year even with the awful shooting from the arc.

    If Coyle doesn’t fire Pitino...

If Pitino is fired at seasons end, how many players from this years team would we expect to transfer? I would assume Mashburn is gone, but how many current players do you think would move? When coaches get fired, do new coaches have to fill a lot of spots typically with spring signings and...

    I've Seen Enough

This is kind of where I'm at with Pitino. I think he knows that he needs to build an identity and culture. I think he realized after the first couple years that run and gun wasn't going to be easy and wasn't going to lead to wins. He changed what the identity was going to be. I would assume he...

    I've Seen Enough

Do you think Pitino knows that developing an identity is important? Do you think that he thinks he is developing an identity and he's just not doing a good job of it? Serious question.

PP: Gophers basketball team needs more from its reserves, and Isaiah Ihnen stepping up

I wasn't meaning to sound over critical. He can still progress this season and contribute quality minutes. That said, I just meant in the future he could be a solid starting player. Count me in as wanting to see Ihnen get more minutes moving forward.
