You HAVE to fire the OC after this game

No. But not running screens is not the issue here. Running only 2 routes on 2nd/3rd and long is the issue

Hole Poll: What grade would you give Gophers coaches after Illini game?

B on the defense and about a 6/100 for the offense. Would have been a zero besides the one drive they decided to pass (when forced to so idk why I am giving them points here). Resulted in a D overall grade

Post Game Reaction Thread: Illini Beat Gophers

I'm pretty sure handing the balls to the referees is not why the team lost today. Put that in bold

Don't ever give a known troll their day. Though I'm doing that by replying. Game has me out of sorts

Fair point. You're probably right. I tend to lean towards the gamble most of the time

Pro teams are employing this concept all the time now. Thats what stats say to do. If you don't get it, you have another shot to go for two. Odds are you get one of the two chances. Completely agree with you. Go for 2

A drive driven by passing early and often results in a TD. Shocker. So frustrating this wasn't employed early on in the game when it was obvious IL was selling out on the run

Our D has been stout outside Q1. This loss is certainly not on them if it happens

Again, the play call was why Morgan faced pressure there. That dig route by MBS took so long to develop, pressure gets home.

The whole team came out flat in Q1. Crowd seems small and not energetic most of the time (watching from FL). Took until the second quarter for the D to wake up and show energy. Good to see some enthusiasm by them. Yet to see an offensive player get excited and be ecstatic like the D did after...

What WR isn't healthy? This is the healthiest that room has been in some time

Only 2 routes were run on that play. IL did not blitz, so easy to cover up the two routes

6 throws so far for Morgan. That is NOT enough with the defense IL is using. Have to throw, especially on 1st down

***OFFICIAL ILLINOIS AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

IL has played the one high safety most of the time on early downs all season. Shouldn't have been a shocker to the staff coming in either

Impressed with the IL Oline so far. For as much praise as our Dline has gotten lately, gophers are getting pushed around.

Shama: 5,503 public season tickets have been sold, a 20% drop from 2019-2020 last time fans could attend

Watch out for Spaulding. His/her entire family are D1 athletes being recruited at the highest level. Mike Krzyzewski actually has his number on speed dial I heard.

***Exhibition Gameday Thread - New Look Gophers VS Concordia St.Paul****

Very concerned about our big men. Not only a lack of dominance over a D2 school, but its felt like an even match down low.

Was a bit behind on the thread due to needing to pick up a pizza, and btn + let's you start the game from the beginning.... No comment needed on Battle and Willis. Best two players on the team. Curry is amazing as a person, love his leadership as well. But if he is our starting C for the year...

Anyone go to the scrimmage yesterday?

I was there. We won 96-69. Rick Pitino must be senile, because he was in the stands again. Kept going on and on about needing more "talent" around the team to get high end recruits to commit rather than resorting to all these lower tier transfers. I agreed. Seriously though, looking forward to...
