All Things 2021 Gophers in the NFL Thread

Winfield’s pick was nearly identical to the one he had against PSU.

Tanner scores on 1st down if he keeps it. So frustrating he doesn’t even look for it

Poll: Is the 2021 Season a Peak, Baseline, or Below Average PJ Fleck season?

Even if we beat Illinois and BGSU, a 9-3 season w losses to Iowa and Wisconsin would feel disappointing (our best win in that scenario is still Purdue). Beating WI would go a long way to making this year feel like a success. Regardless, I hope that Fleck reflects this off season on why we lost...

    Thoughts on the game

One area of concern is Sanford’s penchant for long developing pass plays against WI blitzing LBs. Need to find ways to get the ball out quickly and creatively.

In theory, our running backs next season

I would like to see Irving get some reps in the slot next year as a bubble screen and jet sweep threat. I’ve been frustrated by our offense’s inability to take advantage of safeties and LBs cheating towards the box instead of covering the slot WR, and Irving seems to be much more of an...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT INDIANA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Man if I was an Indiana fan id be so mad at their decision to try and score before the pick. Especially getting the ball at half.

Faalele not returning next year per coy Fleck comment on KFAN Noon show today

Actually really surprised by this based on BGSU and Illinois games. Makes the lack of passing game (and to some extent Morgan’s ability to run) all the more frustrating.

    Fleck Post Game Press Conference

I think fleck has built a good foundation here with culture (no off the field issues, good academics) and brand. He’s also a good enough recruiter to keep us competitive in the West. But I hope after this season he realizes that he can’t let his preferences for ball control and conservatism...

Post Game Thread: Minnesota Loses Again to Iowa

The regression of our passing offense is astounding. It’s hard to fathom. Gopher football can just never put it together. We dominated both lines all day. First time in how long? Deflating isn’t strong enough a word. also I can’t even begin to say how much I hated the 2 point call. Tanner on a...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT IOWA FLOYD OF ROSEDALE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Zero confidence we can complete a pass 5 yards downfield. How did it get to this?

    Jerry got another HC job!

Ironically, we have a very Kill-esque team this year. Above average defense with a team that can run the ball against bad front sevens but not against good teams and that struggles mightily to pass. Only difference is unlike Jerry’s squads, our QB can’t run.

    @EG#9 fine you win.

***OFFICIAL ILLINOIS AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

The lack of WR talent this team has is really really concerning. Morgan has been atrocious and Sanford is in over his head too, but my God.

    Contract Extension for Fleck

    1. If we win the West (and presumably that means we beat at least one rival) Fleck is back to the top of the list of big name programs who have jobs to fill. By waiting you run the risk of either losing him or having to dish out even more $$ to keep him. 2. The Bowling Green loss was horrific...

We want Wisky over Iowa right?

I care so much more about beating those teams than winning the West. I get that there is a ton of overlap there, but if you gave me the option to win both and not win the West, I’d take it in a heartbeat.
