I get the feeling the Vikings were pretty confident they could resign Daniel Jones and then pivoted to Howell when that fell through. He's older than dirt but Flacco would've been a perfect fit for our roster.

I believe the Vikings had $27M in Cap space prior to this trade. We've got plenty of room to trade for a top end talent at a position of need if one becomes available.
