Gophers receive one vote in AP Poll

It's reasonable to vote for Minnesota as #25 when they have two losses to two ranked team. The top 25 is filled with SEC teams like that. Let's not object at the first sign a voter shows some non-SEC bias. If you think Kentucky, Texas, and Miss St are way better than Minnesota or Purdue, you...

    Week 7 Other Games Thread

Good news is someone will lose. Bad news of course is one of them will win. Purdue winning hurts our chances of winning a division. Nebraska winning and it's another week of smug Nebraska fans chirping.

    Illini injuries

Someone please define what "overlooking an opponent" is. This whole concept at it's basic level is almost preposterous. The idea PJ would allow it to happen if this was in some way measurable, is even more ridiculous. Newsflash for some of you might be that the other team is also trying to...

    Purdue injury update

After seeing Tua last night, I think it's best for AOC to rest a week. Need to play things safe with injuries. I think Brohm will leave AOC out. Looks better if he loses with a backup QB in there.

PJ's use of timeouts first half vs MSU

PJ used two timeouts in the first half vs MSU. In the 1st quarter, MSU had the ball with 2:13 left in the first. On third and 8 for MSU, Minnesota called a time out on defense. Next play Ryan Stapp sacked the QB for a loss. MSU Punt. The second time out was used with the Gophers in the...

Minnesota Vs. Purdue 2022 - Media Predictions

He didn't reference it for this pick, but almost every week this year when making the pick for the Gophers he says "Well, we've seen Minnesota play down" or "Is this the week they don't show up like last year". Very skeptical overall of the Gophers in my opinion. Both he and Jeff were very...

Minnesota Vs. Purdue 2022 - Media Predictions

Dustin Shutte -sp on Eyes On Big Ten podcast (and Purdue fan) picks Purdue. He believes it's possible Aidan wasn't hurt that bad and Brohm left him out just to distract Minnesota from Aidan. Shutte also always predicts that Minnesota might play down each and every week because we've done that...

Could the Minnesota Golden Gophers Be a Top 5 Team? | The Ron Johnson Show (video)

You don't go unbeaten in the Big Ten and not make the CFP. That's ridiculous.

    Week 5 Locks

MSU is in a tough stretch of 6 games and 0-2 so far. This or Wisconsin is their easiest game remaining before November. And in November, they still have Illinois. MSU could go 0-3 in cross-overs.

    Week 5 Other Games Thread

I don't know how Iowa can legitimately stay on course with Michigan. There isn't enough voodoo to keep that game close. Michigan 30 Hawkeye's 13. (Two FG's and a defensive TD).

Teams On Serious Upset Alert This Week (Minnesota)

I mean, odd stuff can happen, but the way this team appears to be locked in, I don't see how Purdue stays within 24 points of Minnesota. This could very well be a 40-10 game.

Quick look at remaining opponents after week 4

I'd say they could be a handful, but they could look like they did last night as well. This Purdue team is not as good as last year's Purdue team, IMO.

    Nebraska consternation

They have some consternation about PJ Fleck as well. Some of their fanbase is starting to admit they could do worse than hire PJ, but at the same time know PJ probably wouldn't consider them. Wisconsin and Nebraska fanbases both starting to realize you can't argue with PJ's results.

Tanner Morgan has never looked like this.

Tanner has 7 TD's this year. He has thrown 18 incompletions (in four games).

    Play of the game yesterday

We have a bit of an inferiority complex if we think we were going to be in a tight game if MSU scored a TD there. It would have made the score 17-7 and we then go on and score 14 more, and we probably try harder for a TD on our last drive to go up 38-7, and MSU getting a final drive for...

Quick look at remaining opponents after week 4

I might be a bit disappointed or surprised if we don't clinch the west before we play Iowa. The rest of the Big Ten West appears to all be ready to beat up on each other, and I feel we are 14 points better than all of them.

    Coach Fleck

This win had to be so demoralizing for the MSU fans to watch. First, slow and long drive with third down conversions to get an early lead. Then, 3 and out. Then, slow long drive with third down conversions (and maybe a Tanner Morgan scramble for first down. All of the stuff you don't want to...

All Things 2022 Minnesota High School Football Thread

One would think football could do a bit of a promotion / relegation system. Only the top 8-10 teams get to play at the highest level. They need to earn their way up to that spot. Bottom 2 teams get relegated. Leave some room for discussions on if a top team voluntarily wants to be relegated...

Scott Frost FIRED & Updates on Nebraska Coaching Search Thread

I just watched the Mickey Joseph introduction press conference for interim Nebraska HC. ..I don't think he will get the interim label pulled off due to his success. It made me thankful of the leadership strength of our current head coach. I was wondering if Trev Alberts secretly discovered...
