Yeah, the Twins not being on broadcast TV could be relegating them to niche sport status. It is what it is. On the bright side, the pitch clock rule improved the game. MLB had become unwatchable for me after years of watching fast-paced fastpitch from my daughter's teams.

Largely because of the bolded (bad TV coverage) and lots of bad teams, the Twins have become a non-factor for me since the 2000s. The hardcore fans follow no matter what, but I'm guessing tons of casual fans like me dropped off with lack of easy exposure.

Yeah, I always forget about Carleton. Hard to imagine they fit 7,500 one one side. That old grandstand was built in the same 1920s era as the Gophers Memorial Stadium. At 7,500, it technically holds 18 seats more than St. Johns, even though the Johnnies get over 10,000 at some games.

Minnesota at least holds its own in football revenues but is getting outclassed in pretty much every other revenue category per EADA data. Other schools somehow bring in multiple millions in most "non-revenue" sports whereas MN only tops $1M in hockey and volleyball. Donations? Accounting...

Yeah, my comment was made at least partially tongue-in-cheek. It's really hard for me to get riled up about another $200 fee when it's a tiny drop in the bucket for funding a kid's college education.
