    "Big 10 Tradition"

Yea that certainly wasn't a thing in the PAC. The best version of that, that I've ever experienced in the PAC was against Oregon St at a basketball game. The Duck band started playing the Beavs fight song, all the beavs got up and started clapping to the beavs fight song. Then without missing a...

    Full Banana vs Nevada

Haven't seen any info with those NIL war chest numbers. I'm not saying the Ducks don't have access to funds, they do.

    Full Banana vs Nevada

True, well maybe not 10,000 uniform combos, but certainly not any national championships yet. From a Duck perspective, it's what we are building, not what happened before color tv was in every house in America. Point is, it's not what you've done in the past it's what you are building towards in...

Say something nice about Iowa this week.

The Iowa caucus is quite entertaining. Chaos in small towns with a splash of inocents and overwhelming local perception of importance.

The Very Big Question That The Big Ten Still Hasn't Answered For 2024

Well as long as Oregon is in the championship game I'm happy. I'd be happy if it's the gophers and the Ducks. Go kick some butt....

Oregon football has 'unlimited' NIL backing from Nike

Honestly, I don't think it's all that surprising. However, it's preseason BS for the most part. I mean, the Ducks play Wisconsin in Madison, Illinois, Maryland and Washington at home. Those are all tough games, plus they play the beavs in cornvalley and that's always tough. Point being, being...

Oregon football has 'unlimited' NIL backing from Nike

Portland gets a lot of press in this area, I just looked at some stats on this from 2023 on usafacts.org and Portland has around 6,000 homeless about the same as Chicago and Seattle has around 14,000. Granted Portland is a much smaller metro area and the problems in Portland were magnified...

Ranking every defensive line group in the Big Ten Conference entering 2024 football season (9. Minnesota Gophers)

Yea, some how, I just don't see the defensive line being such a weakness for the Ducks this year. I think USC will be better than people think and UCLA will be worse. I suspect Michigan will drop off a bit as will Iowa.

Oregon football has 'unlimited' NIL backing from Nike

I honestly don't know, I was just googling for a number. Probably sloppy research on my part.

Oregon football has 'unlimited' NIL backing from Nike

You're assuming saying "Oregon" and "Eugene" are the same thing, it's like saying "Nebraska" and "Lincoln" are the same thing. Eugene's population continues to grow at a relatively modist rate, probably around 1% per year. I believe the Portland area has been losing population since the riots...

Oregon football has 'unlimited' NIL backing from Nike

Yea, Oregon is getting a lot of very optimistic press about how they will do in the B1G this year and it's not just Ohio State and Michigan, they've got Wisconsin on the road as well as rivalry games with Oregon St on the road and Washington at home. I don't care what anyone says rivalry games...

Oregon football has 'unlimited' NIL backing from Nike

I believe Oregon currently has a NIL budget of $23 million and I believe the majority of that comes from the Division Street Fund. Which is funded by various donors, including Uncle Phil. I understand a couple years ago Division Street was pumping out $10 million per year, so that annual number...

Oregon football has 'unlimited' NIL backing from Nike

There are other donors to the Oregon atheltic department, Division Street Fund as of 2022 was generating $10 million a year in revenues for NIL. Not sure how much it's generating now, but I'd be surprised if it hadn't increased significantly. The Ducks aren't going away, we're just getting started.

Oregon football has 'unlimited' NIL backing from Nike

I've seen this a number of places. First, it came from SlickRick, the guy fired from Washington (Oregon rival) for betting on NCAA games and the same Ricky that after he left Colorado the NCAA found 51 violations that occurred during his time as coach there. In my opinion the guy has no...

All Things Minnesota at UCLA at Rose Bowl Stadium October 12, 2024

It was a Ritz Carlton when I stayed there, I had one of the cottages just off the main building. Everyone working there was perfect! It was "Good Morning Sir, how is your morning? And that would be from the gardener who stopped what he was doing to greet me. And the finale was when I got in the...

If you want to treat yourself, stay at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena. I stayed there for a week a couple decades ago (different name then), it's about the nicest place I've stayed. I think Calvin Coolidge used it as a secondary residence when he was president. It's a stunning location, I think...
