Another recruiting tool for coach Fleck? The city of Minneapolis?

I think it helps a little, but what would help more is if it was one of the world's most college football obsessed places or was home to many people with vast wealth. Wouldn't help the people of the Twin Cities a bit, but would make the Gophers better at football.

Great Reusse column on his lifelong fandom of our Gophers!

We’ve already lost almost everyone who was old enough to remember the three-peat of the mid 1930s. Soon we won’t have anyone who was alive during those times. My dad is 78 and he was in college for the last Gopher Big Ten championship in 1967 when Minnesota, Indiana (his alma mater), and...

    Leach Eligible for HOF

I'm not sure what to say about Leach in the HoF Record-wise he's the pass-wacky version of Glen Mason or PJ Fleck But he was famous and could be considered a significant innovator in the game

These 5 teams could win the Big Ten, but only with a little luck and a lot of help (4. Minnesota)

There's enough games the Gophers will be favored in (up to 10 of 12) that making the Big Ten title game isn't insane. It would take a lot of luck and consistency to run that part of the table since the Gophers usually don't have a huge margin for bad games against weak B1G teams. But it's very...

Former Washburn player and QB guru Quincy Avery star of new Hulu documentary (son of Wendell Avery, a Minnesota Golden Gophers quarterback)

I'm curious how people pay for private QB coaches like this guy. I grew up relatively well off for a small town midwest kid, and there's no way my parents could have paid for a private QB coach like a lot of the guys who make it have. Nevermind that if you grow up in the small town midwest...

Here are the Top 10 Spoiler teams for the 2025 College Football season. (6. Minnesota)

If we believe the premise of the tweet, that's what the ranker is confident we will do. The other 10 games are not likely playoff contenders so these are the only two, unless someone else on the sked makes a very surprise run.

Ranking the 10 bleakest QB situations among Power Four conferences entering the 2025 college football season (#2. Minnesota)

Big Ten Players in College Sports Network’s Top 100 Returning CFB Players (20. Koi, 66. Darius)

It's really impressive for a safety on a less-publicized team to rate that high, especially with only one year of college ball. If he gets offensive reps and shines in them, he could be the ultra-dark-horse Heisman candidate, if your bookie even has him on the board.

Big Ten post-spring power rankings: Ohio State on top; Gophers #11

Minnesota hasn't finished that low in Big Ten play since Jerry Kill's first season in 2011. Even if you mentally adjust 12 or 14 team Big Tens to today's 18 team format, it's still very rare for the Gophers to clock in below average over the past 13 years.
