What grade would you give the Gophers 2024-2025 season?

Well, they didn't come close to winning the Big Ten title and getting a nice seed in the NCAA Tournament, So---"F" ?? However, if the grade is for playing up to their potential. I'd say "B", especially after losing 2 of their top 7 players for most of the year. I think they finished exactly...

    NCAA Tournament 2025

Nice to hear Bueckers in the postgame with a quick mention/tribute to Amaya Battle's mom, Stephanie.

    2025 Transfer Portal Watch

If we're grabbing players early mainly because we need size and bodies, that's kind-of a bad sign to me. Like, "I'm desperate" sign. I think it's a little early to be in "desperate to bring bodies in" mode.

    2025 Transfer Portal Watch

If an experienced college basketball coach, who's been to NCAA tournaments, disagrees with my assessment of a player, does that make him the dummy? :) Asking for a friend.

WBIT Game 5 Championship: Gophers meet Belmont at Hinkle (4-2-25)

2 years in a row, this team pretty much played their best basketball in the post-season tournaments. Hopefully, next year it will be in the NCAA tournament and they can make some noise. For this group, considering the injuries and moments of inconsistency, I'd call it a really good season!

    Dawson Garcia returning

I nominate Doug Gottlieb and his Green Bay team. Extra publicity and what has he got to lose. Might even give him a nice "out" to end this horrible experiment if the league decides to kick him out.

    Minnesota 2025-2026

3 things. I think the best case for this team (with a healthy Braun) was a little better than a bubble team. What players with talent didn't get as much playing time as they deserved? Holloway? She had a few moments, but though I liked her, I didn't trust her. Gotta earn the coaches trust...

    Niko’s roster construction

Maybe at the end of each day, Coach Thorson should post a list here (shades of what Elon Musk was asking for) detailing every single person he tried to call-and call 2 more times if he got the message; and also detail what exactly was said during each conversation with each contact. That...

    Minnesota 2025-2026

I'd say that making the final 4 IS making a deep run that should have everybody excited for next season! Can't imagine that after losing their supposedly top player and a top 2 reserve, they expected to be significantly better than where they are. I'm not sure which of the possibly returnees...

    Kaydn Betts commits to Montana

I know a couple of the Assistants at Montana. Real good basketball people. If there's anything there, pretty sure they'll be able to get it out of him.

    Transfer Portal 2025

I was thinking more along the lines of San Diego State University. Made the NCAA's, beautiful climate, don't know many people who hate living there.

WBIT Game 3: Gophers host Gonzaga (3-27-25)

It's always tough to see all the defensive hand-to-hand combat going on down in the paint unless you're sitting fairly close to the floor of a college basketball game, as opposed to watching on TV or farther upstairs. It's also hard to understand team defensive concepts, that sometimes seem to...

WBIT Game 3: Gophers host Gonzaga (3-27-25)

I know more than a few of those types of interviewers. The idea is that they're working to get a coach to say certain things that confirm the interviewers theme for the game or season. "Never ask a question you don't already know the answer to". Don't give the coach much wriggle room to...

    New Coach Short List

Fans love fiery coaches because we only seen them twice a week and we can vent our frustrations vicariously through them as they jump around and scream at refs and players. However, when you have to deal with that every day for 6 months or so, it gets pretty old pretty fast. How about finding...

    Plitzuweit

No coach in the world is going to consistently play somebody who has trouble figuring out your offensive system and hasn't yet learned how to play defense at the college level. More often than not, it takes players time to figure out the college game. A few get it right away (Tori-and she was...

    Plitzuweit

Sounds (and in watching, it also looked) to me that we need to be much better defensively! In looking at the rest of the Big Ten, I think you vastly overrated the talent on our Gophers team. We have some nice pieces, but with who we suited up after Braun and Woodson went down, we are not an...

    Plitzuweit

Gotta remember that this is season 2. Lost 2 of the top 8 rotation players (including the one who most consider the best). And it's seems there are offensively gifted players coming in next year. I'm still shocked that anybody looked at our Gophers, then the rest of the Big 10 coming into the...

Gophers recruit Parker Jefferson has big MLK day with his first career triple-double

That is an interesting point in that it begs the question; Is that a actually a factor to be taken seriously or not. I could see that it might be, but then again, maybe not so much. I have no idea.

Fresno State Men's Basketball players allegedly placed bets on games they played in, sources say

Gotta admit, the very few times I ever won at a Blackjack table, the only thing I felt was relief. Probably because I don't make enough money to be able to afford to lose even a $20.

    McKenna Johnson's Playing Time

My feeling is that if Johnson decides to transfer, it will be because she does not believe she is capable of becoming the type of player that coach Dawn P prefers to have on the floor, or decides she doesn't want to be that type of player and wants to go to a program that will allow her to...
