SEC, Big Ten to push for seeding changes to 2025 College Football Playoff

I'm not supporting "tradition." I'm supporting managing this like every other level of football and basketball does. Win your conference. Make the playoffs. I don't care one bit if that means first round blowouts. I'd still rather see Coastal Carolina get in than 4th place Mississippi State or...

SEC, Big Ten to push for seeding changes to 2025 College Football Playoff

I'll say it again. There should be 16 teams so we eliminate byes (which I think could be actually detrimental). ALL FBS conference champions should get an autobid, and then the rest at-large based on the rankings. Seed from there. Does that mean that the MAC and CUSA etc. champs get in? Yep...

Nope - Doogie is a Hopkins parent. I honestly don't get why the officials let Ken Novak continue to act the way he does. He should literally be Teed up in almost every game.

Reusse: Unlike the Gophers’ coaching situation, the solution for Williams Arena is simple: Blow up The Barn

To be fair, practice facilities/athlete's villages, were a major component in recruiting. But everything changed with legalizing pay-to-play (aka NIL). At the time the push was going on to build it, I don't think most people would have expected college sports to change so drastically.

Reusse: Unlike the Gophers’ coaching situation, the solution for Williams Arena is simple: Blow up The Barn

The issue is that Mariucci was purpose built for hockey. Those other arenas were built as multi-purpose to begin with. And they just spent a ton to redo the rink size. Multi-purpose arenas have moveable seats to accomodate basketball and hockey.

True, but Moody is also the primary arena/venue in a metro area of 2.4 million. It's not just for UT hoops. It's Austin's Target/Xcel center.

I assumed the on campus smaller arena would be to replace the pavillion for VB, wrestling etc.

No NBA team back then, so if you wanted to watch basketball, you watched the Gophers.

Well, expect the Wolves new owners to be looking for a new arena. Much as I'd hate for the Gophers to have to share a building, it might be the only way.

Reusse: Unlike the Gophers’ coaching situation, the solution for Williams Arena is simple: Blow up The Barn

You can continue to be the old man yelling at clouds, but the fact is, college football and basketball are big time entertainment. Period. As such, the Gophers are competing for finite sports/entertainment dollars in this market, and part of that is the overall atmosphere. People do not want...

I've stated the same. The U should be looking at Hinkle in terms of how to deal with the Barn. The buildings are similar in age and design, and what they did to renovate that building is beautiful.

    Dammit, Martes Lewis is transferring!

I agree. We've been fortunate. Teams like Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mizzou should do well in the portal, because guys who are good and want to play in a major conference, but have been passed over at a Bama, Texas, OSU etc. may well look to these mid-tier top conference schools...
