    Fleck's Good Wins at Minnesota

Yeah, sure. Whatever. What I want to know: is the program still being "built", or not? Let's focus on something important!

Referring to a fellow poster as "Heather" because they happen to disagree with you is lame. Stick to your argument(s) and you'll sound more convincing.

Of course it's about programs. Your premise is that the Gophers are "no longer building" this program because the won-loss record hasn't improved since 2019. But all programs are always building; it's the nature of the beast. Players graduate, move on. Coaches replace those players. Recruiting...

    Fleck's Good Wins at Minnesota

This has been debated on this board many times. The East was top-heavy, with average to below average teams beneath the top 3. Ohio State and Michigan and Penn State were then exactly what they remain to this day: blue bloods. The West was much more evenly balanced. Scrappy teams that played...

    Fleck's Good Wins at Minnesota

Let's accept ( for a moment) the premise that 2019 was the peak, and the program has been stuck in place since. How many college programs have improved year-over-year from an 11 win season with a Top 10 national ranking?

I was replying to Roland Brooks. That said, both of the Antoine Winfield / Fresno State games were thrilling. Amazing. And... relevant!

Are the Gophers relevant to you? The reason I ask is that some of your recent posts seem to imply that they haven't been good enough to be relevant — the exact word you used. 'Wasn't it nice to be relevant'? That sounds like the relevance is strictly past tense. Yes. It is for me. I can't...

Big Ten QB Power Rankings: Post-spring tiers for every B1G QB room (Very worrisome: Minnesota (Drake Lindsey))

I don't know how 'plugged-in' Ryan Burns is regarding Gopher football; I get the impression he's pretty knowledgeable. In this video he makes some interesting observations about what to expect from the Gopher offense this year with Lindsey at QB. A couple of things stood out to me: 1) He said...

Big Ten QB Power Rankings: Post-spring tiers for every B1G QB room (Very worrisome: Minnesota (Drake Lindsey))

During the Fleck years the won-lost record at the beginning of the year (first 3 games) is excellent.

    Here is the team's won-lost record in the first three games of each season under Fleck... 2017 — 3-0 2018 — 3-0 2019 — 3-0 (eventually 9-0 that season) 2020 — 1-2 2021 — 2-1 (Ohio State in the opener) 2022 — 3-0 2023 — 2-1 2024 — 2-1 TOTAL: 19-5 (Win % .792)

2027 QB Furian Inferrera has Flipped his Commitment from Boston College to Minnesota!

Well, this exchange clearly shows that we have choices in life. On the one hand, we can take the time to do better research and get our facts straight, or... ...we can brag about having taken no time at all to get it exactly wrong.

    — The enthusiasm in the student section these days is wonderful to see. — I love the fact that we can now look forward to each new season with real hope of seeing something special. — Year after year, the players conduct themselves well. They get good grades. The U can be proud of these...

    Fleck's Good Wins at Minnesota

Great list, thanks so much for posting this. I'd add that some of these wins are actually better than good (the word you used). Wisconsin in '18, Penn State and Auburn in '19. USC and Illinois in '24.

    Fleck's bad losses at MN

I must admit I laughed a little when I read this thread. There are people in this world who choose to see the glass empty, and then there are people who see, well, a different picture... For example, when I recall the 2018 season I think of Morgan taking over at QB and throwing a winning bomb...

P.J. Fleck gets a new contract extension—pending approval from Board of Regents—keeping him under contract until 2030.

The perception: Fleck finds guys that are under the radar and hires them, and they excel here, and then they get hired away for more money. That is certainly true in some cases. Yet Harbaugh, Collins, Simon, Callahan have each been with Fleck for a long time. Sori-Marin is a former player under...
