College Football Preseason Coaches Poll - Gophers Receive 11 Votes

I'd be interested in hearing why you think so. Illinois finished the previous season ranked 16th in the country, and it looks like they have a fair amount of returning talent. They were 10-3, with losses to Penn State, Oregon and a pretty good Minnesota team...

Open Practice (Family Day) will be August 2 at 6:00 PM

Thanks for posting this. The bolded part made my day. This, to me, was the main, defining difference between Brosmer in '24 and Kaliakmanis '23. Brosmer was decisive with a rattlesnake-quick release. Kaliakmanis was indecisive, deer-in-the-headlights with a long windup, an inconsistent release...

How do the Golden Gophers match up with the Hawkeyes?

Interesting. Iowa played exactly one game last season in which both teams scored below 20 points. https://fbschedules.com/2024-iowa-football-schedule/ USC, the B1G team with the most passing attempts, also played exactly one game in which both teams scored below 20 points...

How do the Golden Gophers match up with the Hawkeyes?

Really? So... teams that throw more often have fewer one score games?

How do the Golden Gophers match up with the Hawkeyes?

It's pretty amazing that Iowa has played 51 one score games in the last 10 years.

How do the Golden Gophers match up with the Hawkeyes?

Yes! Except, of course, when the jet sweep doesn't work. On those occasions, you clearly run... ummm... something else. Flea flicker, maybe?

Zulgad was of the opinion that Correa is now breaking down physically, on the downhill side of his career. If he can no longer hit for power and has lost his range at SS, he would be a .260 slap hitter playing third base. Granted, he still has a great glove and a marvelous arm. A team like...

I can't say I'm all that knowledgeable about Parsons, but isn't he widely regarded as a true star? He's young (entering his fifth season) and has averaged 14.2 sacks and 17 tackles for loss. It seems like he's a major disruptive force. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/ParsMi00.htm

Well, apparently Lee has more range at shortstop than Correa right now. According to Judd Zulgad, Correa is really struggling with his lack of ability to move well. Hence Houston moving him to third base.

Hmmm... Would you trade one of the DE/rush guys we have now in order to get Parsons? That way, Dallas gets a replacement for Parsons and the Vikings get a possible upgrade. It might be a win/win. I'm not sure how the salary cap would work.

Correa is obviously the root of all the Twins failures. Thank heaven he's gone. Now we can sing: We're gonna win, Twins! We're gonna score!

Having trouble sleeping at night? Just watch this. (Luke Fickell addressing team)

Picture this: You are the Wisconsin athletic director who hired this guy. You sold it as a home run hire. How well are you sleeping these days?

#Gophers football will have a higher payroll than #MNTwins.

Oh, there was plenty of money being made. It just wasn't being made by the players.

I turn 69 years old in a few days. But, hey... I hope the millennials and zoomers can enjoy all the future Twins successes, as they stream the games on their phones.

At least us fans don't have to pay Carlos Correa "all that money" anymore. Thank God for that!
