For whatever it might be worth to you all: I am watching the game on ESPN News channel (I have YouTubeTV) and it is a far superior broadcast, both in terms of resolution as well as commentary and graphics. YMMV

Your wording is much more accurate. Not sure why I used the word host. As you said the quarters/2nd round are at bowl games. So yes, just the first round byes will go to the best four teams in the CFP rankings rather than the four highest ranked conference champions.

Nothing wrong with anything you said here. I still disagree. I like having each division winner get you something. Otherwise, there's no point in having divisions at all (other than as scheduling pods).

I was hoping to come on here and read some good news, but seems the overall sentiment so far is something like less than 50/50 optimistic. Losing in the Conf Finals two years in a row, with a still active "streak" for the state/market, would be a very bitter one to swallow.
