Apologies, post edited to add the spoiler. I have not gotten back to watching it. But I will try

    Twins/Vikings/Wild/Wolves Championship appearance drought tracker

The North Stars are never replaced. Xcel is never built. OR The Twins actually are contracted or leave, and are never replaced. Target Field is never built. Everything else stays the same. You're telling me that it doesn't matter that suddenly none of this is notable?

    ROMAN VOSS TO MINNESOTA!

With all the new NIL, rev share, etc. Is there anything that Voss actually signs, and sooner than later? A real, legal contract binding him to at the very least enroll at the U next spring, summer, or fall (not sure which?) through the end of the 26 season? I don't expect him to change his...

    Twins/Vikings/Wild/Wolves Championship appearance drought tracker

Said another way, and possibly the fairest way as there probably isn't that much crossover between fanbases .... if you consider the sports each on their own, I would guess the Minnesota franchise does not have the longest championship appearance drought, in all four. Even the fuggin Vikings...

    Twins/Vikings/Wild/Wolves Championship appearance drought tracker

^^ but then again there's just not that many single markets that have all four. (Eg. you can argue that Tampa and Orlando should be combined, but they aren't.) And we're probably one of the smallest. That matters for MLB, at least, because the Twins are small spenders in that un-capped league...

    Wisconsin Football faces recruiting violations

I guess it would be 2001-2004 ... which is wild that it was exactly 20 years prior

    Wisconsin Football faces recruiting violations

I only mentioned the yellow highlights, which meant they were 1st or tied for 1st in the conference. Some guy then highlighted the issues with that when only playing 8 conf games when the conference is 11 or bigger. The most important part of it is how Wisconsin has done since the 2021 season...

Amateur College Football Officially Dead: Judge OK's $2.8B settlement, paving way for colleges to pay athletes

College sports is supposed to not be a minor professional league. As soon as it becomes that, it loses almost all value to fans. No one cares about the UFL. But they care about college football.

    Wisconsin Football faces recruiting violations

They had some nice years before the Leaders. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wisconsin_Badgers_football_seasons 93, 98, 99, 06, and 10. But yeah, certainly since 2012 onward these days you nailed it May 2016-2019 be their swan song, with the game completely having changed on them since then

Amateur College Football Officially Dead: Judge OK's $2.8B settlement, paving way for colleges to pay athletes

I say make the cheaters go back under the table. They get a good amount of ego stroking by having been allowed to be over the table. They get to waltz around with everyone knowing what they did, how much, and that they were the one who did it. Like a prized booster with a seat of honor at the...

Amateur College Football Officially Dead: Judge OK's $2.8B settlement, paving way for colleges to pay athletes

Bold: not with new law and/or collective bargaining. Personally I don't think it should be illegal. Do you? I don't see it being that different than lenders can deny giving a mortgage to a buyer of your for sale house simply because you agreed upon a price, if they say via legitimate appraisal...

Amateur College Football Officially Dead: Judge OK's $2.8B settlement, paving way for colleges to pay athletes

If new law passes granting the NCAA protections from antitrust -- feel free to shoot that down as never going to happen, I have no idea if it has a shot or not -- then I personally like the idea of the clearinghouse being able to reject NIL deals where the player doesn't have to do anything or...

Amateur College Football Officially Dead: Judge OK's $2.8B settlement, paving way for colleges to pay athletes

While I know it is not the same thing, there was more than zero agreement by players. The players were the class of the settlement and they agreed to the terms of it, as far as the $20.5M starting point went. If they thought that was too low, why settle? Like I said, that's not a collective...

Big Ten trojan horse lures SEC toward lame College Football Playoff format

Maybe not popular opinion but I would give Iowa, Washington, Oregon, and USC (Notre Dame), and then Kentucky, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida an exemption since they all have in-state rivalries (or USC-Notre Dame) as a P4 yearly game already. That's 4 from each conf, so the other 12 could...

Amateur College Football Officially Dead: Judge OK's $2.8B settlement, paving way for colleges to pay athletes

What do you mean by artificially? Many very successful sports leagues have a cap on total player salary. I have read that Congress is considering federal legislation that will limit the NCAA from further antitrust lawsuits.

    Settlement Reached

Post this question in the thread in the football forum: I'd be very curious to hear a statement from Dinkytown Athletes, as to how they are going to structure their NIL deals to Gopher athletes to ensure they pass muster with the new NIL Go clearinghouse.

Amateur College Football Officially Dead: Judge OK's $2.8B settlement, paving way for colleges to pay athletes

And I believe the percentages have been known well in advance, something like: football 70%, MBB 10%, WBB 10%, Mens Hockey 5%, Womens Volleyball 5%. That's of the total allowable $20.5M, which is the starting "cap" for the 2025-26 season. That "cap" will grow each year from there.

Timberwolves board? Costs GH nothing to make a new board. Doesn't matter if few post in it. Vikings fans on GH deserve their own board! Twins fans too
