No I didn't read it. Just finished most of the article. I think Stillwater might be a good alternative location ;)

FYI: I believe Autzen (football) Pape Field (women's soccer and la cross) and PK (Park baseball) are all classified as off campus.

    Requiem for College BB

I've joined a couple Big 10 websites to get a better feel for what my Ducks are headed into next year. I'm not all that familiar with all the various rivalries. I know Minnesota's primary rivalries are with Wisconsin and Iowa. I see a lot of venom between various Big ten schools fans. Ohio St...

    Requiem for College BB

I think Oregon is going to keep getting better every year, the Ducks have unfinished business... It will be interesting to see how things shake out in the B1G ten. We've seen how Mich and Ohio St have dominated the Big ten over the years, that's not going to just go away with the addition of...

    Requiem for College BB

I'd like to point out that "Uncle Phil" as he's know affectionately by Oregon fans has also made major contributions to the academic side as well, for example, the Knight Library, Knight Law School, Jacqua Center for student athlete academics, the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating...

How long will the Big Ten Conference stay in tact.

www.powells.com Yea, easy to spend an afternoon there. Also, lots of decent shopping in the area. I use to live about a mile from Powells, use to walk down there on a weekend, have a coffee and brouse. Great staff.

The main building for Powell's bookstore is one city block and I think it's four stories. They have an annex with tech books in a separate building.

Hope you found Powell's Bookstore, while you were there. It's certainly the largest bookstore west of the Mississippi, and I think their is one in NYC that might be as large or a little larger. It's a great place. Deschutes Public House is only a few blocks away.

Good point on pronouncing "Oregon" or better "Orygun". It's definitely not Ore-gone. It's about as irritating to Oregonians as "Ill-a-noise" is to Illinois.

Do you want Ben back for a fourth year?

Just a quick comment on Ernie, loved the guy. Great basketball player when he was with the Ducks team that was nicknamed the Kamikaze Kids for the level of intensity hustle and defense they played. He is a gentleman and just an excellent human being. Wish him well.

Yea, those chainsaw sound effects are a real pain. And we are going to keep playing them home and home. It's one of the 10 oldest rivalries in the country. It's a cultural thing, Ore St draws from rural areas do to the nature of the programs offered.... Forestry, Agri, Oceanography etc. The U of...

I remember it well. I'm probably older than most on here. I remember getting indoor plumbing and electricity as well as going to a one room school with 9 students k-8 grades.

How long will the Big Ten Conference stay in tact.

Yea I'm aware of hockey in MN. Some years ago, I had the "pleasure" of staying in a Minneapolis/St Paul hotel next to an arena hosting a high school state tournament in hockey. It was not a place to get a good night's sleep. Service carts going down the halls loaded with exuberant fans/players...

How long will the Big Ten Conference stay in tact.

Actually, Portland has been a pretty good hockey town for many decades. The Winter Hawks probably average 5000 to 7000 attendance. It's not the big leagues and they are competing with the NBA for fans. So in my opinion, that's pretty reasonable for a metro of 2 million.

You are correct, I don't follow the NHL. Last hockey I watched might have been the Miracle on Ice. You do know I was joking a bit about not knowing hockey was a college sport.

LOL, I didn't even know hockey was a college sport until the expansion. As far as wrestling goes, probably the most famous U of O wrestler was Ken Kesey and his fame had more to do with "other pursuits". Actually, once upon a time Oregon did have a pretty good wrestling team, perhaps that will...

All about the Minnesota Golden Gophers: An Oregon Ducks fan guide to the Big Ten Conference

I don't think the games against the old Big 10 schools will be that strange. A few decades ago it was normal for PAC and Big schools to play at least one OOC against the opposing conference. Games that will be strange are games like playing a league game against Rutgers, that feels weird.

Drop Your Way-Too-Early B1G Standings Predictions HERE

When they are on a roll, it's a tough place to play. If they've struggled a bit.... not so much.... So you want to catch them when fans are doubting themselves. Of course the Ducks have sort of frustrated the condoms over the last 20 years :)

Drop Your Way-Too-Early B1G Standings Predictions HERE

Actually, I agree with you, I think the new DC will likely solve the scheme issues. And as I said, they have to take care of the trench warfare, if they solve that problem they could be scary. They play at Minn, at Mich, at Maryland. Sorry I know this is your board, but they could win all three...
