Fleck is fired up on KFAN

Right, my focus was more on the fact that they have won many many World Series. The mlb changed to revenue sharing in 1996, and that has helped the small markets. Baseball still has money problems. I like the most recent changes this year, but that's for a different forum...

    Not good enough.

Fleck is fired up on KFAN

Yup. Thus, why I'm for parity.

Fleck is fired up on KFAN

    Good luck having a coach get those 4s & 5s without NIL$.

Fleck is fired up on KFAN

I so much want to agree with this, but I'm afraid I cannot. If there are any Twins fans on this board, how many of them have wanted the Pohlads to open their checkbook? When the payrolls are the same, you get parity, when the payrolls are different, you get the Yankees. Edit: I'm not saying...

Fleck is fired up on KFAN

Incorrect. #1 - NIL has absolutely changed the face of amateur sports, particularly CFB. All high school recruits are well aware that they can get money and benefits today. While there were bag men and deals under the table, the face of CFB was all about amateurism before NIL. I'd argue...

Fleck is fired up on KFAN

This is honestly why I've been an advocate of just making a CFB league with revenue sharing that actually pays players. Without being a league the have nots are farm clubs.

    Fleck has lost his hunger/edge

Alight, admit some hyperbole. But... under Fleck, Rossi, and our OCs which is more likely over 13 minutes: Gophers defense stopping 224 yards Gophers offense being productive

    Fleck has lost his hunger/edge

The offense has some growing pains and who lines up at RB this Saturday is going to be interesting. But this loss wasn't cause the Gophers took the foot off the gas. This loss was completely on pass defense. 21 points in 13 minutes. 396 passing yards and 4 TDs to clearly confused schemes...

    Fleck has lost his hunger/edge

It could be he's just a conservative HC in need of an aggressive OC to balance things out. The worse the season record, the more he'll be willing to take chances. We'll see I guess.

PJ is injuring his running backs and it has to stop

1 - Can you find a source for that statement? The only ones I find are because of the Lions being the Lions. "Since retiring, Sanders wrote co-authored a book — Barry Sanders: Now You See Him ... His Story in His Own Words — in which he made it pretty clear that he retired because he was...

PJ is injuring his running backs and it has to stop

Barry Sanders at Oklahoma State in 1988 _____ Sept. 10 vs. Miami (Ohio): 18 carries, 178 yards, two touchdowns, one kickoff return touchdown Sept. 24 vs. Texas A&M: 20 carries, 157 yards, two touchdowns, one punt return touchdown Oct. 1 vs. Tulsa: 33 carries, 304 yards, five touchdowns Oct. 8...

    Fleck has lost his hunger/edge

I do think the Gophers and other average programs in the BIG will have recruiting benefits by having more elite schools in the same conference. Not saying they'll have top 20 or anything, but certainly make the bump to top 40 more easy.

Describe the Gophers loss to Northwestern in one sentence

Gopherhole hopes that Rossi learns that pass coverage should probably cover 100% rather than 75%.

Yup. This right here obviously isn't a player problem. This is a Rossi problem. I say that as a Rossi fan.

    Fleck has lost his hunger/edge

The offense, eh, I expected a mess. I'll believe the Gophers will have a good offense when I finally see an OC and QB tandem that are coveted by other P5 programs. The run defense and line play have been fine. The tackling fundamentals have been off. But holy moly the coverage miscues are...

To PJ's credit, he usually rights the ship. To PJ's failure, it's usually losses like these that force his hand to make uncomfortable decisions.

Post Game Thread: Gophers Blow Horrendous Game to a HORRIBLE Northwestern Team

I expected a 6-6 to 7-5 season. I understand that winning in Evanston is generally tough as Northwestern doesn't give up. Every year we can expect to see Northwestern upset somebody. But this game implosion rests solely on the Gophers poor coaching. 1 - We need points? Sorry, the OCs are...
