Deion Sanders Replaces Mike Sanford as Head Coach at Colorado | Tim Brewster Likely Lead Assistant

Of COURSE!! Sanders has already given the starting QB job to his son. McCown has zero chance.

Deion Sanders Replaces Mike Sanford as Head Coach at Colorado | Tim Brewster Likely Lead Assistant

I think they will improve the team with an initial burst of quality recruiting - but it takes time, too. He will stick around long enough to get his kid through as the starting QB, after that he has no loyalty to Colorado. This is all about him - I think it will be similar to when Lou Holtz came...

Deion Sanders Replaces Mike Sanford as Head Coach at Colorado | Tim Brewster Likely Lead Assistant

The way I see this whole thing going is kind of a mirror to when Lou Holtz came here. They win 4 games next year, 6 the next and then he moves on to somewhere flashier like a USC or Florida St. and then leaves them just when things are looking promising. It looks great now -- but you know it...

Deion Sanders Replaces Mike Sanford as Head Coach at Colorado | Tim Brewster Likely Lead Assistant

I agree -- he will be gone in 3 years but don't count out Florida St. -- that is the job he really wants and if there is an opening he will want it bad.

Syracuse fans reacting to Minnesota fans reacting to playing Syracuse

If the Gophers take this game seriously -- they should win handily. I think they cover that 7 points easily. If they go in saying they should be playing in a better bowl the only way to show they were slighted is to dominate and blow them out. If it's close or heaven forbid lose -- then they...

Deion Sanders Replaces Mike Sanford as Head Coach at Colorado | Tim Brewster Likely Lead Assistant

Not impressed with him coming in, meeting with the team and telling everyone to hit the portal and his son was going to be the QB. I would say he is off to a bad start - we will see how this goes...

Great article!! He will probably win some type of award for jounalism for it !

What grade would you give the Gophers coaching during the 2022 regular season?

Went with a B. I would go with an A for the defense and a C+ for the offense. I thought we could do a lot better on offense and sometimes we were outcoached. Not sure about the OC. Objectively, most services had this team pegged with around 7 wins so they were slightly better than advertised.

Will the Gopher offense morph for Athan?

Plus you should see a pretty spirited battle for the WR positions for next year as Allen and Autman-Bell could both be fighting for time with the WR's that closed out strong vs. Wisconsin. I expect the WR's will be better next year!!

Will the Gopher offense morph for Athan?

that's true, of course!! But you can see how much tougher it is for teams to stop BOTH the run and pass than it is to just stuff 10 guys in the box to take away the run!!

Will the Gopher offense morph for Athan?

LOL -- I hate that - but didn't it seem to you we were a little better than we have in the past with that?? I could not stand QB Morgan running all over the backfield changing the play with seconds left on the playclock?? It looked absolutely ridiculous.

Will the Gopher offense morph for Athan?

I think you might see the Gophers throw a bit more, but Fleck still loves to run and I do not think he will change this offense too much. The most important thing about dealing with Big Ten defenses is you have to do a bit of both because they will try to take away something that is working and...

    Projected 2 Deep

That may very well be true and I sincerely hope so! But they are still question marks and relatively unproven. Potts version 2021 would have been a viable option but Potts after the injury is another question mark. I would also say if AK does not have that game vs. Wisconsin I might want to...

    Projected 2 Deep

ABSOLUTELY -- 100 PER CENT AGREE!! I would think the Gophers would be a very attractive landing spot - this is where Ky Thomas would have been the #1 guy instead he is battling 4 other guys for reps in Kansas. Good choice. I would think someone is going to say I can beat out Potts and be their...

Strack: Can PJ Fleck Change His Best?

Good post! I agree AK's growth is key for next year, but I think RB is the biggest question mark heading into next season. We need someone to step into that RB1 role and even a RB2 should be considered up for grabs.

    Analytics love Gophs...Connelly #16, Sagarin #23, Massie #22

The thing I find most impressive is the high ranking it gives the Gopher defense. Coming in at 8.6 - it does show some respect for the Gopher defense. Our passing game should be looking up for next year but I would like to see someone step up at RB that will be able to pound the rock. I do not...

    Nebby pounding Iowa

You just might get your wish! Iowa's offense won't be able to score more than about 10 points against most SEC teams and their defense will be exploited by a decent offense. Guessing a good 31-10 thrashing and I do not even know their opponent yet!!! haha. So yeah -- go ahead and give them one...

    Nebby pounding Iowa

If the Big Ten takes a pretty mediocre Iowa team over the Gophers for the bowls, Iowa will get rocked in their bowl and the Gophers will be lined with someone they will beat again. Iowa should probably get the last Big Ten slot possible -- they are not a good team at all.

    Nebby pounding Iowa

So true. For the Gophers, the Purdue loss (without Ibrahim) and the Iowa loss (where the better team with more talent lost) really stung. It would have been a good year if those are victories for us. I just don't know if we will get that kind of opportunity to make a real run very soon. I...
