Shama: Anonymous analysis said the offensive play-calling was “creative and fun,” while speculating the Gophers used more trick plays last night.

Excellent article! I'm going to start a second thread based on the main topic of this article - "Even more success could be next for Gophers Football"

    B1G vs SEC

The teams getting air time in the CFP are not the Gophers' peers anyway - Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon - they are and will very likely remain at another level. The B1G doing well in bowls confirms they are the premier conference (along with the SEC) to fans, players and TV execs which leads...

I think their defense is too good assuming the injuries they got today don't keep those guys off the field. The have an excellent running game with two great backs, but their passing game and QB are not great outside jump balls to Tyler Warren. James Franklin almost blew this game by getting...

The Gophers would DOMINATE the SEC

Only eight conference games, four non-con with two P-4 required to get that cross-pollination and make it easier to compare conferences. Plus, the variety will be more fun. Best 12 teams by ranking. Top three conference champs get byes and then highest rated gets remaining bye regardless of...

If Penn State loses, they will regret getting cute and not just running the ball. Allar does not seem to have good pocket presence.

What a great idea! The overtimes are way too long and boring...because they are too long. Eliminating timeouts would make them shorter and more exciting.

    SEC armor - hypothetical results

I edited and removed the required 2 p4 noncon games because I agree that is too difficult to even make happen. Sorry, I didn't even know you could see that. I must have posted on accident before I was ready.

    SEC armor - hypothetical results

I'm really torn with how you come up with the top four that get the byes. How about something like this. Top three conference champions get a bye and highest rated non-conference champ if the top four ranked teams aren't all from different conferences. This eliminates some human error by...

Could they be getting distracted by all that money even before they go pro? All that money when so young is going to kill some of these kids’ desire and focus. They are only human.

Highest-paid player in college football history? Transfer QB Darian Mensah's Duke deal is sign of times

Heard the same POD and the same thoughts. It seems like B1G teams in general are doing pretty well pulling guys from other P4. Will we have an advantage because of our higher TV deal or are the majority of P4 going to spend $20 million+. I can’t remember the details.

I'm starting to like Pat McAfee... If you don't know, he went to school in West Virginia and refers to himself as a northerner. I don't agree with all his takes in this 14 minute video including the one that Tennessee couldn't handle the cold (they are only a few hours south of the OSU stadium...

Wow! ESPN...I mean ABC taking every opportunity to tell us the B1G is over-rated.

Ohhh! This is too good!!! "The entire debate over the inclusion of Alabama and Ole Miss, who conclusively did not belong in the college football playoff in 2024, boils down to the fact that SEC fans are happy to choose whichever metric or standard makes their teams look better. That's fine...

I put Strongazzoffer on ignore and am glad I did so, but now a part of me can't stand that I can't see what terrible things he's saying. What's wrong with me?

Thanks for laying it out so simply - total revenue, alumni base, involved fan base, big-money booster donations, attendance and NIL support. Based on these criteria, who do you think is trending up and down (why)? Down - Alabama (no more Saban), Wisconsin (unlikely to achieve previous...

Wow! ESPN...I mean ABC taking every opportunity to tell us the B1G is over-rated.

I really like the current set up. It allows underdogs to get in and diversifies the field. I don’t care if they get crushed. So do teams like Tennessee! Tons of teams got crushed in the old system and even in the more equal NFL. Part of what makes the basketball tournament so cool is the...

It seemed like his vendetta was making Greg McElroy uncomfortable. Sean had to start backtracking when Indiana made that late run. It would have been so cool to see them make that last two point conversion to move the game to just eight and see them start sweating! We were inches from seeing...

It seems like elite talent level teams almost always crush the underdogs/overachievers when they have a lot of time to prepare like for bowl games. I don't have data to back it up. It's just my perception. I think overachievers often have something gimmicky or unique about how they win that...
