Amari Allen visited Minnesota more than any other school, but he just committed to Alabama

Classic, I still have a not quite complete set, they don"t make it like that anymore.

Amari Allen visited Minnesota more than any other school, but he just committed to Alabama

Check this out, not even a collective anymore, Tennessee is making it a direct part of Athletic Department. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/tennessee-adding-10-fee-football-171641493.html

All Things Class of 2025 Gophers Basketball Recruiting Thread

Committing early to Minnesota had no impact on other offers Assuma might have gotten if he had waited I'm sure.

Pac 10 expands, adds 4 new schools

They need two more football schools it sounds like, might as well fold in the rest of the Mountain West it seems or are they going to pursue some Big 12 schools..

Philly guard Kai Shinholster commits to the Gophers.

Ideally you need some carryover, 7 would be great, not sure it will be a reality though.

    No Debbie Downers thread

It's game one, how often have they looked good offensively in the first game of the year, I don't follow it that closely but I don't remember that many in the last ten years.

What grade would you give the 2024 Gophers basketball non-conference schedule?

Expectations can be tempered, if Johnson thought he was going to have a good team he would have scheduled accordingly. He's had a chance to see them practice so he knows what to expect, bummer.

RIP to former Gophers interim HC and long time assistant Jimmy Williams

Maturi's inability or unwillingness to stand up to the administration was probably the biggest issue. Tubby's name recognition with Williams recruiting ability would have been a force.

With Pharrel Payne gone, the Gophers men's basketball team will turn to transfer Frank Mitchell and others to produce in the post next season

Payne was inured quite a bit last year, really wasn't productive until the final stretch, that Payne will be missed but two thirds of the season not so much. Good point on Garcia at center during crunch time, makes sense and may have been part of why shooting was not a critical piece of...

Coyle says changes could be coming to Gopher sports department

Baseball is going to be a very hard one to keep, very expensive with no revenue. You've got what 25 people flying around the country constantly all winter not to mention the in season travel expenses.

    Dawson Garcia

Probably better that he gives his whole body a rest, no need whatsoever to participate in the summer workouts, the only issue with a foot is that he really can't do anything to maintain a certain level of conditioning. It is going to take him awhile to get in shape when he gets back.

Q&A: Get to Know Gopher Men's Basketball's Frank Mitchell

Great athletes also though, for his size Anderson was freaky quick.

The Athletic: I think he (Cam Christie) should have returned to school.

Did Christie have a pretty good idea of what kind of a contract a mid second rounder would get. With the contract he ended up with there is no way he stayed another year. Like others have stated it's the second contract where the big money lies, start the clock running as soon as you can without...

Wild story about former Duke player Filipowski

My personal experience is that Mormons are great people, sure they try to push you to their church but if you state firmly that you are not interested they back off.

The Athletic: I think he (Cam Christie) should have returned to school.

I think guys in his position did go back to school and will make more money doing it, Hawkins is the obvious one. No way he would have returned to Minnesota but he could have found a school willing to shell out pretty significant amounts of cash.

Wild story about former Duke player Filipowski

If in fact his relationship with that women was a factor I would say that Utah got a steal for the second round. I sure wouldn't worry about this one issue, there are many many worse. It's his life and he should live it the way he wants regardless of what others think. After spending a year...

    Cam Christie to the Clippers

A non one and done program and getting one can have nothing but positive long term impact on the program. Many on this site don't give any credit to Johnson but at the very least he put Christie in a position to succeed, something that competent leaders do.

STrib: Gophers returnees Dawson Garcia, Parker Fox and Mike Mitchell Jr. provide needed stability

Big impacts to the second round of the NBA draft going forward. Hawkins model is going to be common place I would guess. Test the waters in the NBA draft, enter the portal, broker a NIL deal worth more than second round NBA draft money, wait until the last second to withdraw from the draft if it...

Top 50 Men's College Head Basketball Coaches

So true, Kundla couldn't win at Minnesota and it surly had nothing to do with coaching.
