I think you are right that this season’s shortcomings are more mental than a lack of physical ability. Hopefully with the Swenson twins and some good transfers, especially DS/Libero and some strong blockers this team can find the right mentality to fight through tough situations.

Like you I have been surprised by the play of gophers this year, but that being said I still believe the team has the potential for success in the second half of the season. There have been many changes and it takes time to get comfortable in a new system.

I tend to disagree with your assessment. There’s still a lot to play for this season. Granted, no B1G title or NCAA championship, but growth as a unit can help toward next year. Benching a player can have a positive affect.

Why can’t this team come ready to play. I think they won the first set 3 times in 13 matches so far. Most of first set losses were blow outs. They need crowl in the lineup for energy and a different look.

Is Strelow and Cox coming back? As long as Ehlke’s bat is in the lineup it doesn’t matter to me if she’s DH or at first base.

Good question. Maybe she just wants a chance to get more playing time in her senior year.

I’m not surprised, it’s been 3 years and she got about a dozen at-bats this season and with krapf behind the plate her playing is greatly diminished. I appreciate her staying as long as she did and I think she will be a good addition for someone.

I think with Pease gone we should see more growth from Schwartz & Hambrick. Without a true ace the incoming freshman may find a larger role in the pitching rotation.

If Allister had issues with the field, we had an exceptionally wet winter this year. If Ritter schedules either Nutter or Garmin along with Clearwater it will be a strong non conference schedule.

I agree with the improvement and I think the incoming freshman class has a lot of potential.
