It was a fun place, I worked there back when it was called the Brickhouse, about 1979-85 or so. Bucket night was wall to wall people every Wednesday night.
I agree, a lot of optimism when the B1G season started. All those home loses including the sweep by what ended up being a bad Purdue right off the bat.
I got to listen to Walter speak one time, really enjoyed him. Many references to the Gophers and Haskins. I got to talk with him afterwards, nice guy. Too bad he missed most of his senior year with an injury.
I agree, can't seem to finish. The first 6 innings have been great. Many times, an error, walk and a timely hit have cost the Gophers a late inning loss.
Coffey finished the regular season hurt, they added him to the playoff roster just in case they advanced. Amir ended up with a solid season averaging 24 minutes and 10 pts/game.
Regionals and Supers are a blast. Went to many of them in the early 2000's here in Lincoln, even as a non husker fan, it was a special experience. Nearly 10,000 people jammed in Haymarket for several games in those days.
Medved did say in his press conference when asked about CSU players, that he wouldn't do anything involving them for several days so they could process losing the basketball game and losing their coach. of course, the players do need to enter the portal.
I get what you are saying and I am totally happy with Medved, but to be fair, McCollum had a whole new team at Drake this year. 4 of his starters came with him from Division 2.
