    Fleck's bad losses at MN

I think you mean 2022 vs. Purdue. We were 4-0 in 2022. Purdue ended up winning the Big Ten West that year, so the loss was not as bad as we thought at the time. Mo Ibrahim was a game-time decision and did not play in that game. Clearly, would have been a different game had he played, but no...

    Fleck's bad losses at MN

I think the worst loss of the Fleck era was 2021 Bowling Green. After that, I put three 2023 losses next in line: @Northwestern (terrible blown lead) Illinois (terrible late game melt down) @Purdue (one of the few times lack of effort and will was apparent in a Fleck-coached team) Then...

    Fleck's bad losses at MN

You and about 200 others (including me) watched that game. Total. Including Northwestern fans. Agree with everything you said.

Wow an end of an era on #Gophers campus as Annie’s Parlour closed after more than 50 years! Who has great memories going there while in Dinkytown?

The business model combined with location just wasn't going to be sustainable. $16 cheeseburgers and $10 malts/shakes just won't be a popular option on a campus. I loved their food, but it was just too pricey to eat there a lot. And, yes, I know, its pricey everywhere. But, college campus...

Kirk Ferentz’s take on college’s new era may surprise you ahead of 27th Iowa season

His new contract specifically says he cannot leave Illinois for another Big Ten job. Not sure he'd go anyway. He's from Illinois and seems to have it going there okay.

Kirk Ferentz’s take on college’s new era may surprise you ahead of 27th Iowa season

Ferentz has won more than 9 games in more than a third of his seasons over the past 23 seasons. And he's won a Big Ten title or a Big Ten division title in more than 20% of his seasons over the past 23 years. He has won less than 6 games once in the past 24 seasons. There is more than a 51%...

    ROMAN VOSS TO MINNESOTA!

You might be thinking of Petersohn. We view Petersohn as a LB, Penn State views him as a TE. Gophers have been after Voss as a TE from the get go.

    Gophers 2025-26 non-con schedule news

Co-worker of mine was at the Dunkers breakfast today where Niko apparentely spoke. Niko said they are looking to add a neutral game in Sioux Falls at the Pentagon for the coming year. Sorry, if that's already been mentioned. I had not heard it before.

Ben Johnson brought those shorts back when he got the job.

Three football coaches Iowa fans love to hate (PJ Fleck, Minnesota)

I think he was more lying to divert attention away from the mob wanting to fire his son as offensive coordinator at the time. Easy to say they got screwed by the refs and have that be the major conversation point instead of his son's situation.

Jameson Geers is a sneaky really good TE

Geers is talented and from all accounts a great teammate. He will definitely need to cut down on drops. He has a chance to be a 40-50 reception guy with 6-8 TDs if he does that.

    PP pre-season conversation with Medved

Interesting Question here...... If offered, would you take what Iowa 2.0 gave their fans the past 12 seasons under Fran for our next 12 years under Niko? It would easily be the best "scandal-free" period of Gopher basketball ever, and close to the best 12-year era of Gopher basketball period...

    Leach Eligible for HOF

It appears they've moved them at least three times over the years, including this time LOL

    Leach Eligible for HOF

My suggestion is the better way is to eliminate the silly arbitrary number. It seems they added that requirement in the mid-2000s. No reason to keep it. Leach either is or isn't a Hall of Famer...either way winning 59.6% instead of 60.0% should not be a determining and especially not an...

    Leach Eligible for HOF

That said, setting an arbitrary win percentage for a coach to get into the Hall of Fame is stupid anyway. Why 60%? What's magical about that? What other Hall of Fame does that? To make the Baseball Hall of Fame you have to have a career batting average of .300? A running back must average...

    Leach Eligible for HOF

Holgerson played for Mumme at Iowa Wesleyan and then was an assistant coach for Mumme at Valdosta State.

    Leach Eligible for HOF

Dana Holgerson, too. He's now Nebraska OC, we see him in October. That general coaching tree also includes Art Briles and Kliff Kingsbury to a certain degree.

    Leach Eligible for HOF

Leach was a direct disciple of Hal Mumme and his offense, having been his assistant coach all the way from Iowa Wesleyan to Valdosta State to Kentucky.
