I hope she doesn't come back. Why waste a whole year of eligibility for just a handful of games? If she sits out, she will have two more years to play with Grace, Tori, Nia, McKenna, Taylor, and whoever else they bring in.

Also appreciated the fact that when the Gophers made their comeback, it was not against a bunch of subs. The Maryland starters were still on the floor. I remember Sellers pounding the ball on the court in frustration.

From what I've heard, most of this years schedule was set up by the current coach and her staff. Supposedly teams were picked based on their style of play, rather than how good they are. If they continue to win their conference games, it won't matter. But if they finish below 500, it will come...

Am curious as to why Holloway gets so little playing time. Is she still limited physically? An attitude problem? Not good enough offensively? I've always admired her hustle and the way she plays defense. You would think with our shortened bench, she would merit more minutes.

I agree. I collected them for years, for both football and basketball. I still have them. I wish they still sold them at games, but I would guess the U just views them as a bother and too expensive to print.

I always looked forward to Bernie Bierman's analysis of the game on WCCO. I can't remember if it was at half time or after the game, but it was always interesting. Speaking of Paul Giel, I read once that when he fired Cal Stoll, he told Stoll that he just couldn't sell him to the fans anymore...

Almost forgot to mention the game where a ringneck pheasant flew in and perched high on the wall overlooking the stadium. He probably didn't pay to get in either.

Memorial Stadium was old and probably not in the best of shape, but I preferred it to the Metrodome. Going to a game there was a true college football experience. If the weather was nice, my wife and I would arrive early, park on the west bank, have lunch, and then a take leisurely stroll over...

I thought two things turned the game around. Stewart got more minutes in the 2nd half, and Tori playing the point at the end. She did a better job than Battle in moving the ball. Having the ball in her hands also got her to the free throw line. She and Grace had ice in their veins today.

Both schedules are terrible, but at least the women won their games. Still, as a season ticket holder for the women's team, I've yet to attend an actual game. Who wants to watch glorified scrimmages? Now that the Big Ten season has started, we'll see if they're any good or if that record is a...
