Bowling Green coach Scot Loeffler at postgame podium to a reporter: “They couldn’t throw it from me to you.”

I haven't looked up the stats, but the pass/run ratio during the 2019 season seemed about right. The two attacks should be complementary. Success at each enriches the other. Thanks for the conversation and be well.

Bowling Green coach Scot Loeffler at postgame podium to a reporter: “They couldn’t throw it from me to you.”

I don't think so. Defenses can hope for errant passes, sacs, deflections, interceptions, holding penalties (more common on passes). Much can go wrong on passes. Plus, when trailing, a steady rushing attack adds anxiety because of the clock. And weather and surface conditions can make passing...

Bowling Green coach Scot Loeffler at postgame podium to a reporter: “They couldn’t throw it from me to you.”

You pass-happy guys are amusing. Gophers won by doing what they needed to do even ending the game in the Victory Formation. I loved the running attack (although I'd have had Nubin carry more times). There's nothing more demoralizing to a defense than a rushing team that keeps getting first...

The more shots of Ms Swift that the networks show, the more passes Kelce drops. Stop showing Kramer's fiancee.

Possession of the ball is the most important asset. I hate punting.

NDSU HC leaving for USC assistant role

They've done pretty well. And I like their style of play.

    De-Commit from De-Commit

That makes me think. I don't know what limits coaches' contracts might have re retention but it seems many departures are mutually agreeable. Anyway, the NCAA wouldn't have any say in job changes for coaches since coaches are employees of the school not students. I think the NCAA has lost...

Yes, just as any employer can disappoint an encouraged candidate if a better one shows up. Do it enough, however, and your reputation becomes sullied.

I know. There's no attempt to be fair to anyone in the process these days. Everything is just driven by money. That's why my interest in major college sports is waning.

    De-Commit from De-Commit

There needs to be a penalty for committing (a contract) then disavowing your commitment. I suggest one year of ineligibility. Student athlete must complete a year of academic success before beginning to participate. Same with Transfer Portal. You move to another school, you get a year off...

    De-Commit from De-Commit

"my bad" makes no sense since "my" is a possessive pronoun and "bad" is an adjective. You can't have a "bad." A bad what? It's akin to saying "our slow."

Chiefs giving off serious Iowa Vibes after last night

Coaches seem to value speed in a receiver too much and the ability to catch the ball too little. And it helps to recruit players who have the smarts to line up on side.

    FCS Playoffs

Thanks for the Thanks for the explanation. I admire programs like NDSU who seem to recruit good kids, play disciplined, and win consistently. Seems like The four Dakota schools, the two in Montana, and maybe two or three from Idaho would make a good conference. Fans of those schools are not...
