All Things 2025 Minnesota Timberwolves Off-Season Thread

Because they can pick up second rounders at anytime, they should have picked up an additional second rounder this time. Since they are such solid NBA owners why would they value a couple of million bucks over another player asset? Why was it so important for them to do that twice in one week...

All Things 2025 Minnesota Timberwolves Off-Season Thread

They were always going to stay under the second apron, which makes sense. Asking ATL for an additional 2nd round pick, even post 2030 was achievable. Second round picks get tossed around like candy in the NBA. This was the second cash considerations deal in a week. Not a good look.

The TPE piece of it was good. I would have preferred an additional second, even if a few years out, to cash considerations. This was their second cash considerations deal in a week. It's not a good look.

All Things 2025 Minnesota Timberwolves Off-Season Thread

This is the second wolves deal in the last five days with "cash considerations." One of the major concerns about Lore and ARod was that they were under capitalized. This doesn't help the perception. (Yes, I know about Schmidt and Bloomberg. No clue what their actual involvement is or is not.)

Not for $3.6M when you are right up against the second apron. They must really, really, really value him as a locker room guy.

The U.S. District Attorney’s office is investigating Detroit Pistons guard Malik Beasley on allegations of gambling related to NBA games and prop bets

He was the one who waved a gun at some people who turned around in his driveway when he played here. Dumbass.

What grade would you give the Timberwolves 2025 draft?

Then Finch is dumb or at least not as smart as you. He played Rob 500 minutes last year, probably around 400 of those minutes were in garbage time. This was after TC announced they wer going to throw him in there no matter what. Playing ahead of him was a 37 year old who barely cracked the top...

What grade would you give the Timberwolves 2025 draft?

Due to the salary cap, the draft was one of the few ways they could improve the roster for next year. They chose not to do that. When you tell me that 17th picks don't play rotational minutes, plug it into one of the AI apps. There are at least twenty examples that contradict that statement...

What grade would you give the Timberwolves 2025 draft?

It's almost as if the wolves thought they won the championship and there were no holes to fill on the current roster.

Forgot all about Matteo. Where's he been?

Naz Reid intends to sign a new five-year, $125 million contract with Wolves

My guess is it means that Julius is gone unless he takes less money or he opts in.

Updated 2nd Round Mock per The Athletic

Nope. There was nothing the wolves did in the draft that strengthened the team for next year. Neither of these guys are rotation players in 25-26. With the potential departures of of Reid and NAW, Fleming could have been a rotation player. Conley will be 38 and Dillingham is undersized...

Updated 2nd Round Mock per The Athletic

The message of this draft is that the wolves have punted on challenging OKC next year. I don't have too much of a problem with Beringer, except he's two years away from being an impact player. The wolves decided to David Kahn the second round. Rasheer Fleming is a player who could have...

History Shows Pacers vs. Thunder May Draw Record-Low Ratings

I think OKC would have won even if Haliburton had played. They are the best team in the league and they proved it all year. However, I counted five phantom calls in favor of SGA last night with no reciprocal treatment in favor of Indiana on the other end. OKC plays tackle football on defense...

Reusse: Niko Medved returns to U with advantages over predecessor, fondness for Clem Haskins

We'll never know if Johnson could have been halfway decent because Coyle kept insisting that he was doing NIL "the right way" at the time. According to Reusse, the gophers are now at about $6M. The top programs are in the $7-10M range. Better than it was, but still a ways to go.

Reusse: Niko Medved returns to U with advantages over predecessor, fondness for Clem Haskins

The best part of the column was Reusse's comparison of Coyle at the beginning of NIL to Calvin Griffith at the dawn of free agency. They both "abstained from digging for dollars."

All Things 2025 Minnesota Timberwolves Off-Season Thread

I don't want a 37 year old who plays 50 games a year signing a one week extension. We are already stuck with Rudy for way, way too long. Everybody talks about how Rudy cut the wolves a break. Who else was going to give a 32 year old who does one thing that can't be easily replaced $105M in a...
