Max Brosmer 2025 NFL Draft: Scouting Report For Minnesota Golden Gophers QB

Yeah, make millions to basically be another coach and break the glass sort of guy is not a bad gig. Then you can go into coaching if you want.

Max Brosmer 2025 NFL Draft: Scouting Report For Minnesota Golden Gophers QB

I think a quick release is important in the NFL but does not make up for the fact that he lacks zip on the ball. Quick release only helps with timing passes and avoiding sacks, it doesn't help you throw harder. There's no doubt he's the type of QB that can throw with a quick release on well...

College Soccer is Looking at Becoming a Pro League

I'm a big soccer fan but I do not see the schedule being changed to move soccer to fall through spring. A large number of games would be unplayable due to weather in northern locations. MLS would have more difficulty getting foreign players to come and play in MN in the dead of winter. Then...

Max Brosmer 2025 NFL Draft: Scouting Report For Minnesota Golden Gophers QB

I didn't mean that he was a mobile QB just that I think he can move around in the pocket enough. He's certainly not a good athlete for the position. He's definitely more of a traditional pocket passer.

Max Brosmer 2025 NFL Draft: Scouting Report For Minnesota Golden Gophers QB

He may be the type of player that comes out of college and impresses so well with his grasp of the system so quickly and picking things up fast he might find his way on a roster as a rookie. I mean, if you're keeping 3 and you want a guy there that could pick things up fast and get out there...

Max Brosmer 2025 NFL Draft: Scouting Report For Minnesota Golden Gophers QB

I think this is a fair assessment of Max. The good: #1-Very football smart kid. #2- Good leader #3- Good decision maker #4- Good accuracy overall #5- Can be mobile enough #6- Throws with anticipation The weaknesses: #1- For NFL purposes the biggest thing is the arm. He just doesn't have the...

    Former Players on Culture

I'm happy to see players believe this too. It's too bad most programs in College these days seem way mor concerned about how much money they're making than if they're helping produce good young men to go out into society. Most of these young guys won't make a living off of football so if they...

    Other Bowl Games Thread

Yeah, not sure how there is even anyone arguing about that one. He ran into the guy with not attempt to look for or make a play on the ball. That is about cut and dry as it gets really. If the player had turned to look and/or made a play on the ball it would be a different story. It was kinda...

    Other Bowl Games Thread

It was a good game to watch. Too bad there weren't more in the playoffs like this one that there was. Luckily some bad calls didn't end up changing the outcome of the game. Though I think the PI call on ND was definitely correct.

    ESPN bowl monopoly

I think it just comes down to that there really aren't any bowls that are huge draws that aren't part of the playoffs now. A lot of ESPN's content is covering B-tier sports events so these bowl games fit right in that. Most of the major networks probably look at ratings and say they can...

Charlotte's Mayo bowl game suffered the smallest turnout in its 23-year history on Jan. 3.

That seems like a failure of the marketing team for the game and local chamber of commerce. Even a low level bowl game has enough of a draw to bring in a good amount of business locally if you make it look like an event people should care about.

Charlotte's Mayo bowl game suffered the smallest turnout in its 23-year history on Jan. 3.

It was 42k with NC vs VT last year. 37k in 2022 for Maryland vs NC st. 45k for NC vs South Carolina 44K for VT vs Kentucky 48k for Virginia vs South Carolina 32K for Wake Forest vs Texas A&M back in the early days this bowl used to draw 50-70k but in recent years average is like...

What’s needed make a step up?

I feel like the issue is we don't have big play makers on offense. We good players like Darius Taylor and Jackson at WR but losing Jackson. Brockington looks like he could maybe be good in a larger role next year but outside of him they're pretty thin at WR unless someone steps up or they have...

PJ was hired 8 years ago today. What grade would you give the Fleck era?

Yeah, he has produced about the same number in 7 years as Mason did in 9 and while I was a little on the fence about Mason I thought he did will with producing NFL players.

PJ was hired 8 years ago today. What grade would you give the Fleck era?

I think he's the best coach they've had since I have been alive and I'm 50.

    B1G vs SEC

Best thing was Alabama losing to Michigan. All that crying about not making the playoff and they can't even beat Michigan. Gave me a huge smile that day. I seriously wonder if Alabama could beat the Gophers. They just seem to think because they're in the SEC they should have some sort of...

What grade would you give the Gophers 2024 football season?

It's a nice stat but at the same time I would trade 8 low level bowls for one major bowl win or to even be in the playoffs.

Mayo announcers may have been worst ever

I think it was a case of the sponsor had a lot of demands as far as mentions and stuff like that. So the announcers probably had to do some of this sort of stuff as part of the contract. I bet if there's Duke's Mayo Bowl next year you will probably find the same crap. Bowl games, money talks...

What grade would you give the Gophers 2024 football season?

C+ I think they showed they're a solid Big Ten team. But they should not have lost to NC & Rutgers. Should have won vs Michigan. Had Penn St. on the ropes. Really feels like this team should have been more like 10-2 maybe 9-3 in the regular season. Then they would have probably made the...
