All Things Chet Holmgren Recruitment Thread (Class of 2021, Gophers Have Offered)

I'd say crying at losing your ONE chance to win an NCAA Tournament Championship--is justified.

    Roster Projections

Despite being EXTREMELY optimistic... Still no actual point guard! (I'd still take it and thank my lucky stars!)

Report: Brad Stevens turned down $70M offer from Indiana to stay with Celtics

First saw Brad Stevens up close at the Thanksgiving tournament in Anaheim, CA in 2009 when Tubby's Gophers beat his Butler Bulldogs in the first game. He led that team to the first of two consecutive NCAA Tournament finals and wound up coaching my beloved Boston Celtics... Warms my heart that...

Hey! Look at who is back in the transfer portal and who else just entered it

Jahcobi Neath, 6'-3" PG, who played at Wake Forest for 2 years, is transferring to the Badgers. (from Madison.com)

Hey! Look at who is back in the transfer portal and who else just entered it

I remember that Willis was considered a secondary ball handler when he was with us, but, to my amateur eye, he looked tentative bringing the ball up the floor and not effective as a distributor. To me, he would seem to be a plan C as a PG...

Why are you a MN fan?

I'm in Madison and it is a very common complaint that Wisconsin kids have a hard time being admitted to the Flagship University. In WI, it is clear that the ratio of spots available to WI kids versus out-of-state, mostly from the Northeast kids, is affected by funding from the legislature...

Hey! Look at who is back in the transfer portal and who else just entered it

He's a super likable, super positive kid with some D1 talent (athleticism), but not enough bb skills in the end. I loved cheering for him at the UM and wish him the very best.

Why are you a MN fan?

Mother grew up dreaming of playing QB for the Gophers. Both of my parents were in grad school at the UM when I was born--also they were original Vikings season ticket holders... Got my first skating lessons from my daycare provider's sons, who eventually played hockey for UM. Moved to New...

Hate to rain on your parade, but Chet has been 'Warm' to the UM for more than a year. It's only polite.

Shooter: Brian Dutcher praises Gophers’ hiring of Ben Johnson

Do we KNOW that interviews with Dutch and Medved were planned? Or was that our expectation?

The last time Gopher Basketball exceeded your expectations?

1997 ... also Pitino's first season. I derived unreasonable joy from that NIT run.

    Potter hanging it up

How kind of you to think of the success and well-being of the Badgers program! I agree about the alienating effect of the evangelical vibe taking over a locker room, though.
