As a Gopher fan I would love a 16 team playoff. But as a college football fan I don't believe a 4th place team in a division should have a chance to win the National Championship. Any more than 8 teams is too many.
You are correct. I think most non-revene sports will need to be cut. You would
need to cut programs like baseball, soccer, swimming men's and women as you correctly pointed out. You can't be paying athletes that don't generate income and survive.
I think this could kill womens sports at universities. I can't see most schools paying women in non revenue sports the same as football players. I would assume most non revenue womens sports will be eliminated.
One thing about Hetherman. He was a good DC, but I never heard anything about him as a recuiting helper. So not sure if he was good at that. I do hear a lot of people praise Collins as a good recuiter. Also that Rutgers game I blame Hetherman.
I wonder who takes over the linebackers. Would be interesting if they add a coach from a lower level. It would be nice to add someone who maybe could bring a player with him.
You are correct Miami is ACC. They are not power 2 football. We are playing in the big leagues only two conferences will matter in the future. It is time we start spending the bucks to be in the big league.
I am sorry. I like the program but to have so many coaches leave for lateral moves is a problem! I can see moving for upgrades not a good look for more money if you are building a good program.
