    Angel Luciano commits to Gophers!

Hint - if you're going to pretend to be in your 40s, we've all seen the Godfather like a billion times. It was on TBS/TNT every day. I thought you had me on ignore? Couldn't figure it out or me calling you out on you lying about your age just kept eating at you?

    Angel Luciano commits to Gophers!

You sure comment and react on a lot of my posts for someone who has me on ignore. Weird. As to your point, nope, I'm Catholic. The reference is to the Godfather describing Johnny Fontaine.

With his olive oil voice and guinea charm. . .

Still No Statement from Ben Johnson

Yep but life is full of things you should or should not do regardless of your contractual obligations. In fact, the overwhelming vast majority of things in life you should or should not do are not dictated by contract. No one is saying that he must. No one is saying that it's a contractual...

    Player NIL and TAXES!

No, I'm not disagreeing with you, I was just curious what you meant. How did athletic scholarships work? I know the tuition portion wasn't taxable and they only gave scholarships to people who played, so it seemed to be pay for play. Maybe they satisfied that requirement by not pulling the...

    Player NIL and TAXES!

What do you mean by "pay for play"? Athletic scholarships are generally not taxable and they are only awarded to people who play the support.

    Player NIL and TAXES!

I agree. I believe they should completely open Pandora's Box on what employment looks like.

    Player NIL and TAXES!

Scholarships and room and bored would not be taxable - there is an exemption written into the code. All NIL is taxable income regardless of if you get it paid by the school or from some collective.

    2025 Transfer Portal Watch

It really depends on the player. If you're going to be picked at #20, that's essentially 3 years at $9 million dollars (4th year is team option) and you're also a year closer to hitting free agency. If you take the $4 million from Michigan and then drop you have now made $8 million dollars...

    2026 NCAA Tournament

NIL certainly is going to have a bigger impact on the tournament. It drastically limited the chances for a Cinderella. This is just going to water down the lead up. I'm opposed to it, but I think the impact will be similar to the play-in. It's biggest impact is that I'm going to forget about...

72 or 76 team NCAA tournament.....NCAA determined to ruin one of the best things in sports.

I don't know if it's possible, but I hope the extra 4 teams are brought in in some creative way. Maybe the best team in D2? Maybe some sort of play in game for the Mid Major Conference Champs who didn't win their tournament.

72 or 76 team NCAA tournament.....NCAA determined to ruin one of the best things in sports.

In theory, yes, but we've already sort of killed that dream. I don't think last year is going to be an aberration. It's going to be really difficult for the mid-major programs to field teams that could go on any sort of run because all of their best players have already gotten called up to the...

All Things Minnesota at Oregon Road Game Thread

For these late games in mid/late November, I wish the Big 10 would try to schedule it for a football game on Friday night and a basketball game on Saturday (when possible).

    Tyson to Minnesota?

The other thing this really helps is the ability to switch every where on defense.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS - The Last of Us Discussion

Has anyone else seen it? I thought Season 1 was pretty good but Season 2 struggled, in my opinion. I played the first game, so I was probably a bit harsh in the same way "the book was better" people can be annoying. My issues with it weren't what a lot of people complained about - I don't...

    All Things Movie/Documentary Reviews/Recommendations Thread

You know, I know people pissed off on both sides of this one - which maybe makes it interesting. I don't know. It was decent but to me it was pretty cut and dry.

    Leach Eligible for HOF

I think the Air Raid system is the basis for most modern offenses - especially in college football. I don't know the exact amount of that is attributed to Mike Leach personally, but I don't think when you evaluate the impact of that offense it makes sense to just look at Mike Leach's teams he...

Yep and he had the leverage to get that buyout because of his success at Iowa State.

    NEW MUSIC

This is great. For whatever reason, I've never been able to get into Jason Isbell - I've tried and seen him numerous times, but this is great.
