B1G Head Coaches previous head coaching experience

Interesting if this is close. Assuming for a second they don't have to split it evenly, be Interesting to see how each school does it. Do you spread it evenly over your revenue sports? Maybe some teams go forget these sports, we're going all in on X. Like I thinking if I was maryland or...

B1G Head Coaches previous head coaching experience

I really wish I understood that whole situation better. Can they pay anyone anything? Do they have to split it evenly? Who decides who gets what? Will they spend the max available? So many questions so few answers given.

B1G Head Coaches previous head coaching experience

I think if anyone is trying to figure out the "secret recipe" to what guarantees a successful coaches, your going to be looking forever. Unfortunately there is no 1 thing. Sure some assistants turn into HOF coaches, most don't. Sure some who have had success other places will here. Most won't...

Ben Johnson: We know we’re really close to breaking through. (video)

Yep, I wish he would shut his mouth. He's so full of it now. I'm getting to the point I hope we have to pay the full buyout because that means no one is dumb enough to hire such a low IQ coach.

Marcus: What if struggling Gophers men’s basketball hadn’t lost key players because of NIL?

Not that we really matter ha but it'd be nice to have clarity on his contract. If, as some have mentioned, his buyout only drops in May, at this point there is no reason to keep him. If it drops when the session ends then I guess I get keeping him. An actual reporter might get that question...

Marcus: What if struggling Gophers men’s basketball hadn’t lost key players because of NIL?

I dont know what's worse the article or the coach. I mean honestly, CBJ is clearly one of if not the single worst coach in D1 and 4 years in Marcus says woe is Ben he has no way to succeed. 🤢 absolutely 0 accountability.

    Fire Ben Johnson

I almost think it would be more suffering on his side to fire him and watch the team get better! I guess not that CBJ would have any idea what so ever what good basketball looked like

***OFFICIAL OHIO STATE AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

"Open season" might be a bit of an overstep but 100% think they should be scrutinized and more asked of them. Some of this is just insane people right. I will take Parker Fox for example. Listen I want the Gophers to win more than anything. Fox is now getting paid (through DTA and others which...

Time to make a call to Bryce Drew!

Hes certainly an interesting case. Absolutely dominated lower leagues, recruited very high end talent at Vandy, but also ultimately had 2 tough years at Vandy. I'd be inclined to give him a shot for sure, but it's certainly possible he's just not made for coaching on the biggest of stages.

Ultimate Proof Ben is unfit to rule

I'm going to say this with all sincerity while not trying to sound like a total jacka$$ but I'm sure that's how it's going to sound 😄 Do you think CBJ knows he's completely in over his head and has no idea how to coach at this level? Again, I know what else is he going to say, but his...

***OFFICIAL OHIO STATE AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

That was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. They had the ball with 12 on the shot clock, we rebound it.... and the clock didn't reset so we force one up? Ha come on home clock!

STrib: Ben Johnson hopes his Gophers ignore criticism following 0-3 Big Ten start; he has a $2.93 million buyout if fired after this season.

So if I say everything is ponies and rainbows it will get better? The coach makes MILLIONS of dollars and the reporter is paid to talk about the team. I don't feel bad for either saying they should take some responsibility and at least acknowledge how bad it is. To me that pressure will help to...

STrib: Ben Johnson hopes his Gophers ignore criticism following 0-3 Big Ten start; he has a $2.93 million buyout if fired after this season.

Marcus seems to be a lot like CBJ. Appears to be a really good human, but just can't grasp that sometimes the truth hurts. He writes a lot of fluff pieces on CBJ. It's ok to admit he's a disaster of a coach who has been in over his head since day 1 and needs to be fired. "Criticism is growing...

Five Guys On A Shortlist: If the U Decides Change Is Needed, Aim High & Don't Be Cheap With That Big Ten Cash

I dont know if this is sarcasm or not, but there are a lot of programs that should take a chance on her for a mens program. There is no reason for the Gophers to do it because the outcomes are she's awful and we fire her or she's great and never ever stays here long term.

Five Guys On A Shortlist: If the U Decides Change Is Needed, Aim High & Don't Be Cheap With That Big Ten Cash

Yah he's probably not a great example but started 6-5 and some of these blue bloods get pretty temperamental was my point. I'm not saying he's leaving or we would get him, just a general example.

Five Guys On A Shortlist: If the U Decides Change Is Needed, Aim High & Don't Be Cheap With That Big Ten Cash

Few things. People who keep bringing up BYU, that really has nothing to do with the coach himself. Their billionaire booster told them to hire his best friend and he'd pay for everything. That just doesn't apply here. For the Medved/Saunders/Smith group, ask yourself would say Cal/TCU/FSU...

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

CBJ lucked out a bit in my opinion last year. We locked in DG and Fox early and Hawkins left late. Combine that with 9 conf wins and a frugal athletic department, that combo basically got him another year. If they don't go big with their next hire then we could just as well shut down the...

The NCAA is considering allowing five years of eligibility for players in all sports moving forward, per an NCAA official.

I have seen a few places but no one has seemingly confirmed. Would this mean you get 5 years, that's it and that's all? If so I'd be in board. Get rid of redshirts, get rid of waivers, etc. 5 years and move on. If you can only play 3 of those well tough, life isn't always fair. No offense to Fox...

***OFFICIAL PURDUE AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I actually think Cooper is the prime example of how much an abomination CBJ is as a coach. Cooper leaves to go to SCar where he starts and plays big minutes on a tournament team. His counting stats all are down (pts reb ast stl) but if you notice he's actually a better player. Shooting %...
