Gophers stadium staff lets off fireworks after the missed kick (video)

It certainly confused my 5 year old. “Did the Gophers win?” No, bud, they did not.

    This is spot on.

I’m convinced PJ is playing for field goal attempts, and any TDs are merely conservative plays run awry.

Any chance the weather holds off through tailgating time?

    Stormy Rowing Ahead?

Leaving the U park and ride on Monday on 4th St to 35W took us an extra 20 mins to get through campus with no students and no game. It will be an absolute cluster today. First thing my wife says, “good thing we park on West Bank”.

Trojan Wire: The Minnesota Golden Gophers are the Big Ten equivalent of what Cal was to the Pac-12.

USC winning % post Pete Carroll (4 coaches if you include Sarkisian's short tenure): (.666) USC winning % Pete Carroll: (.815) USC winning % of the three coaches prior to Pete Carroll: (.629) USC is a very good program. Winning more than 2/3 of your conference games over many years isn't easy...

    Minnesota State Fair Thread

Went today. Good gravy it was hot. It must have scared people off; by far the least busy day I can ever remember attending. No lines anywhere.

All Things Gophers 2024-25 Schedule Updates

To all you season ticket holders, sorry you have to pay for this garbage. Meanwhile, I’m going to take advantage of the state fair specials and go buy some non-con games with the 4/$40 deal and conference games with the 4/$50 deal. I’m sure there will be all of 4k others with me watching the...

All Things Gophers 2024-25 Schedule Updates

Considering Coyle hung his neck out (about as far as he ever will) and said he expected the non-con to be better, CBJ really took a crap on that and made him look bad. If I'm scratching and clawing to keep my job, not sure making my boss look bad is a great way to go.

How continuity has shaped P.J. Fleck's Minnesota tenure | NBC Sports (video)

Maybe PJ has relaxed a bit. That is by far the slowest I've ever heard him say "RTBSUMGG" at the end.

    Kirk Ferentz commits recruiting violation

I’ve been to Iowa twice. Never had a problem; reasonably nice, even. The Iowa fans that come to MN however, absolute garbage. Wisky fans on the other hand are equally shitty home or away.

    Minnesota State Fair Thread

I always take off a weekday (usually Mon or Tue) and we go then. The difference in crowds is pretty stark. I like going to the fair and the kids love it, but not sure you could pay me enough to go on a weekend due to the lines/crowds.

First major hurdle - Rutgers football loses star linebacker Mohamed Toure with torn ACL

Wonder if this will temper some of the Rutgers love they're getting this preseason. It seems people forget who the QB is over there. On a somewhat unrelated note, I've never experienced a more cocky fanbase anywhere. Nobody bothered us in the stadium, but while we were out at the...

All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

If he’s along the same lines as Patrick Peterson when he was here, I’d take it. Not his former self, but knows where to be and can still make plays. Just don’t expect you’re getting All-Pro Gilmore. CB depth before the season even begins was looking pretty scary.

All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

Considering how this season is already playing out, I'm just hoping his suspension gets dealt with in 2024 and doesn't drag into next year. Top 10 pick and stud CB/DT here we come!

Darius Taylor and Daniel Jackson dealing with injuries.

Well, from the date of injury(s) it's 5 1/2 weeks to Iowa. It's early, but I think I need to mentally adjust expectations on DT. Take the Royce Lewis approach - appreciate when he plays, but don't expect it.

Can he voluntarily request his suspension at the beginning of the season to ensure he’s good and healthy when he comes back 😄

Darius Taylor and Daniel Jackson dealing with injuries.

This x100. If anybody is taking Fleck at face value on an injury, they likely haven’t been paying attention to the program. This may be a really minor injury, but Fleck's comments literally mean nothing.

All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

I think whatever chance there was of him starting later in the season is likely out the door now, which is fine. Maybe if they're out of the playoff chase he'll be ready enough to start weeks 17/18, but that's probably about it. Whatever interest there was in watching preseason Vikings football...

All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

I would agree with your assessment of JJM. His worst throws were the short throws. One on the naked boot where the DE was right there and he had a pretty bad throw off balance. His intermediate and deep throws were good. The touch on those throws were great. It’s super early, but he strikes me...

What separates the 2024 Gophers defense from the past? Versatility

If Lindenberg and Mav can stay healthy at LB, that alone would have a huge impact. The drop off when they didn’t play was stark and resulted in a ton of opponents explosive plays.
