I figured he would go before the 3rd round. As I wrote in another thread, there was a wide range of opinions about him and I think if you found the mean between those opinons, this is about where he would end up. Good luck to him. Really became a great OL for us.

He was beaten out by Thomas Castellanos, who was a pretty good dual-threat QB. Moorhead looks to be more of a classic dropback guy.

I always get a chuckle out of the draft "experts." Ersery gets high marks from some, but Daniel Jeremiah and Lance Zierlein over at nfl.com don't think that much of him. Who knows what scouts and GMs actually think? Like you, I'm hoping he gets snapped up in the second round. He needs to...

Nice write-up and thanks for posting. Good to see Walley's instincts mentioned. I'm no scout, but he seems (note "seems") to read what's in front of him very well and has enough athleticism to make adjustments. He's not big, but like Prisco says, he isn't afraid to throw his body around.

I think we are going to see more of what you suggest. More highly-recruited (though not necessarily top 100 high school players) head to the MAC or similar conferences to rack up performance points.

I think the money part plays into it in a big way. If a player is a former top 100 kid that hasn't done much in his first two years, he's probably going to move while he's still marketable (as in "I was a top 100 kid"). If they are still buried by the time they are three years into a program...

I always love the discrepencies between the draft mavens. PFF has Cooper at 185 and Walley nowhere to be seen. That's the first time I've seen that in the pre-draft analyses.

Similar to Brugler except he's lower on Joyner, Walley, and Lindenberg. Brugler also has Brosmer going in the 7th round. It's all a crap shoot for those of us looking on from the outside (and that includes draft mavens like Miller). On Day 3, teams look for players that match the team's style...

I think he has an NFL future. From what I've read in the amateur draft press is that there are concerns about his size/strength and whether that would limit his possible roles on the field. The guy has tremendous instincts and he looks versatile enough to play either inside or outside at CB...

I've read a few sets of pre-draft rankings and from what I've gathered, the difference between Miller's list and others is that they have Walley higher and Lindenberg lower. Some like Brosmer and most think he'll get drafted. Miller doesn't seem to have a lot of love for Ersery and at #105...

Sorry to hear that. As I recall (and at my age recollection is often off-base), he ran the "predict the score" for a few seasons and he was a bit of a stickler when it came to how the entries had to be formatted. Always loved his insights.

He chose the wrong school. What he did would qualify as an extra credit course at Georgia.
