I like Horton. Haven't heard enough of Glenner to have an opinion one way or another. I couldn't figure out why they let Benz go to begin with, but admittedly Grady was a big step up in hindsight.

A lot of the national guys still maintain a local gig. Marv Albert still called Knicks games even when he was the primary NBC (later TNT) announcer. Mike Breen does too. At the least they'll need more of a part timer though to pick up some slack.

Buck did draw 2 Walks today and scored both times. No hits but also gunned a guy out at the plate.

In the moment, even as a Twins fan, I wouldn't have rated it #1, with only 1 run 10 innings. Heck at the time I would have said Puckett's Catch of the Plexiglass and Walk-Off HR in the B11th the night before was a better game. Even now Red Sox/Mets G6 '86 WS with Reds/Red Sox G6 '75 WS, all 3 a...

All Things 2025 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

I looked at Kirby's Baseball Reference page and noticed he made the All Star Game in his final 10 seasons, thinking that might be quite rare. Then I looked at Cal Ripken Jr. He made it in each of his last 19 seasons, almost doubling Puckett. Cal's started in 1983, 3 seasons before Kirby's 1st...

Movies that hold up vs. those that don't

Sean Penn knew what he was doing on that film. Interesting sidenote, Bill Pohlad was a co-producer on the project. Into the Wild is one of several projects he and Penn have worked on together.

I could have just as easily added Corey Koskie as being surprised that he's on the 6WAR list but former AL MVP Justin Morneau is absent.

Twins Alert on todays Grid: Braves - Bartolo Colon / 8% Brewers - Matt Garza / 1% 6WAR - Johan Santana / 10% Looking at the WAR category, the 2 biggest surprises (not including the Senators) for me are Jerry Koosman & Joe Mays.

Movies that hold up vs. those that don't

I revisited Into the Wild over the weekend for the first time since 2020, so 5 yrs from the most recent viewing and #8 on my All Time list. I could see how some might say I favored this movie as fan of Eddie Vedder/Pearl Jam. Actually the opposite is true. I am a fan of Eddie Vedder/Pearl Jam...

Gregg Popovich - Steps Down as HC

The Admiral was Drafted #1 in 1987 which was the season before Pop joined the Spurs as an Assistant Coach. It was a gutsy pick in some respect by the Spurs because he had to fulfill 2 years of Military Service, having gone to Navy. Rookie season was not until 1989-90. Some other pretty good...
