All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

No question he's our best player. The point is: he's a wide receiver, not a QB or a left tackle or a dominant edge rusher. I have doubts that it's smart management to build your team around a WR, no matter how good he is. I hope I'm wrong.

    Badgers fire their OC

"Struggling" is an understatement. In fact, he's not in the same zip code as Chryst. Chryst at Wisconsin: 67-26 (.720) Fickell at Wisconsin: 13-11 (.541)

    Badgers fire their OC

Geez... sounds like Coach Fickell is playing the victim. If P.J. Fleck ever said anything even remotely self-pitying as this, what kind of response would it have received from Gopher fans and local media? It almost sounds as if Fickell is pining for happier days, back at Cincinnati.

All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

Should the highest-paid WR in the NFL be expected to make his QB look good, no matter who the QB is? Asked a different way: can a great WR make an entire offense look good? Or, is a wide receiver — by the nature of the position he plays — somewhat limited in his ability to impact overall team...

    Gopher +12.5 vs Penn State

I believe that the Gophers can go toe-to-toe with them if we play up to our capabilities. Fingers crossed.

Our highest-paid player is a wide receiver. Is that smart?

    Gopher +12.5 vs Penn State

This line seems about right, considering. I like the fact that the game is at home. If we had taken care of business vs. Rutgers, we would be riding a five game winning streak. The home crowd would have been unbelievably enthusiastic for this game. But after laying an egg in Piscataway, I...

    Badgers fire their OC

How easy (or difficult) is it to acquire a good QB at Wisconsin? Maybe Wisconsin — like Iowa, like Minnesota, like Nebraska — shouldn't put all of their offensive chips on the hope that they'll perennially be able to get a good QB. I mean, when I think of top-notch Wisconsin QBs I think...

    Badgers fire their OC

Could this be a signal that they'll move away from the beloved, vaunted Air Raid? I watched the Oregon - Wisconsin tilt. To me, it looked like the Badgers moved the ball best when they simply 'pounded the rock', Alvarez-style, with a power running attack. That approach seemed to have Oregon...

Big Ten QB Rankings: Brosmer #13

According to current B1G stats, Brosmer is in the top third of the B1G in passing yards, completion percentage, and touchdown passes. He's now seventh in the B1G in passer rating and eighth in passing yards per game. https://bigten.org/fb/stats/

    2024 Bowl Projections Tracker

At this point in time, it's still all in front of the Gophers. Their bowl fate is in their own hands. If they play at the top of their own capabilities in these last two games they can still accomplish some impressive goals, and go to a very attractive bowl game. If I know Fleck, he's pointing...

    Shadeur Sanders

This is is bit of a knee-jerk reaction, because I haven't seen every single play for Colorado. That being said, I don't know if I've ever seen a college QB play as well under constant pressure from pass rushers as this kid. I mean, every time I've watched a Colorado game he pretty much gets the...

    B1G takes 4 of CFP Top 5

This will be really fun to follow. If this holds up I'm pretty sure some (talking sports media) heads will explode. Is the SEC now becoming the little brother to the B1G?

    My Big Ten Power Rankings.

Obviously these things are highly subjective but, yeah, Noel, I think you're pretty much spot on. Looking at the schedule before the season began I doubt if you could find too many people on Gopher Hole who would have been disappointed in the Gophers being in the top third of the league after...

    Update: Highest Graded True Freshman

Perich definitely has the 'it' factor. It's amazing what he's done as a true freshman. Because of his rare athletic abilities, it's fun to speculate how Fleck and the coaches might utilize him in the future.
